Giampi
North Korea by Militia Man Author: Militia Man Type of mod: Campaign mod Download Required: Desert Siege, Island Thunder, patch 1.4 INTRODUCTION I believe also the stones know that the upcoming GR2 will be set in North Korea for an hyphotetical conflict involving the US Army in the far east Asian country, but when it was not yet announced the scenario of the sequel of our favourite game, Militia Man, author of Operation Diablo, set also his new mod in North Korea. CONTENTS Like Operation Diablo this new work by Militia Man is a campaign mod with 5 missions linked with a storyboard and an extra quick mission. The rest of the mod is just slightly tweaks with some change of the original weapons and few textures. BACKGROUND AND MISSIONS The campaign takes place in the year 2007 shortly after the death of Kim Jong IL. Washington sends the Ghosts elite special forces team into North Korea. Their mission, to locate intelligence on nuclear arms inside North Korea. The missions Missions follow the standard of Militia Man as in Operation Diablo, therefore they don't present an heart-breaking script. Despite this the missions run very well, with no particular surprise but also no bugs and this is a very important thing in order to enjoy fully a game. One aspect very important to highlight is the very good use of the environment files. Even if the maps are the original ones sometimes you feel like you are playing new maps. The second mission for example is based on M01 Caves map but, being night time it looks quite different (Actually here Milita Man darkened also some of the textures). But astonishing is the third mission with a delicious red light to give a completely new feeling to M08 Battlefield map. Image BUGS As mentioned there are no script bugs but sometimes it's possible to notice some silly mistakes such as in mission 3 where there is no world map at the briefing (while it's present in all the other missions) or other very minor things. CONCLUSION After the very good debut as GR modder, frankly I would have expected something more from Milita Man. Also considering the fact that the maps available are not suitable for a North Korea based mod I have to say that the story lacks of interest, and while playing the campaign, you are not pushed to go on. IMHO Operation Diablo was better and therefore I award only.... . FINAL SCORE: 7 / 10 OBSERVATION Also in this case I helped Milita Man for some small debugging tests but as you can see this did not forbide me to be critical with his mod. And don't tell me that I'm doing like this to keep my job of Mod Reviewer ;-) Reviewed by Giwex Edited August 1, 2008 by Rocky

Militiaman
A 7 out of 10 rating isn't bad for North Korea Campaign. I think Operation Diablo had a more interesting plotline because it was someone else's idea. My talents seem to be better on refining ideas more than coming up with them myself.
