On this Mission you're Inserted directly behind a U.N. Tank Column consisting of 2 M1-A1 Abrams Tanks. your Primary Objective on this Mission is to protect these 2 Tanks as They move through Vilnius in an attempt to clear out Enemy Troops. There are 3 Squares within the City proper that will need to be cleared in order for you to complete your Objectives on this Mission .

While there is Enemy Armor on this Mission that you will come up against - It’s the Shoulder-fired Rocket Launchers that will end up destroying any of the escorted Tanks in all eventuality. There are Enemy BMPs that you'll come up against but these can easily be tasked and taken out by the 2 Abrams that are steadily coming up behind you.

That said - I'll now detail how an Operative Inserted on this Mission could move and conduct themselves in order to garner successful Mission-based results ending ultimately in a Successful Extract and the Completion of ALL Mission-stated Objectives. This is of course NOT meant to Infer that the following Mission Plan is the ONLY way in which this Mission can be completed successfully - But moreover - To state that If an Operative moves, is Loaded-out, and conducts themselves as I set forth in the following Mission Plan - They will have successful Mission-based results ending ultimately in a Successful Extract and the completion of all Mission-stated Objectives as stated above.

The Escort

Move to the right side of the 1st Tank and then move up the right side of the street as the Column moves up It. As you move along the right, you will come up to the Library's Park which opens onto the main street you and the 2 Tanks are now moving down. There is a large debris pile along the right side of the street. Move up on this debris pile and about 20 meters in front of this debris pile you should see one or two lone Tangos on the far side of the Park. Get set up in the "Prone" position and take Them out. Once these Tangos on the far side of the Library's Park are Eliminated - you'll have to move up to the debris pile and then use it for cover against a BMP and some remaining Enemy Troops still within the Park. As soon as you hit the debris pile a Tango will move up from the left side of the Park between the wall and the BMP in an attempt to take you out. Eliminate this Target from the "Prone" position before the Tank Column reaches you and once It does, use the 1st Tank as cover to move across the gap in front of the Park and the Enemy BMP. At this point it’s advised that the Operative hold their position on the right side of the 1st Tank so that the 1st Abrams can stop and traverse it’s Main Gun to destroy the Enemy BMP.

Once the Enemy BMP has been Eliminated you can once again move up the street to the Top. Move along the right side of the street again and you'll see another debris pile on the right again except much farther up the street. Move to this debris pile and you'll see an Enemy Patrol on rotation at the top of the street. Take out these patrolling Tangos and then double-time it from the debris pile on the right to the Left side of the Street at the top corner. Do not present around the corner but rather hold until another Patrol of 4 Enemy Troops has moved into your sight angle from the left at the top of the street. Eliminate these Tangos as soon as you see them and get prepared to move across the top street to the right side under cover of the Abrams Tanks as They round the Corner behind you.

Now the timing on this Part of this Mission is critical or you will not survive the next encounter. From the left side corner at the top of the street you should turn back to the Tank Column coming up on your rear. Move behind the 1st Abrams, and to the right side of the Tank. As you and the 1st Tank turn the corner left at the top of the street - you'll need to break right at double-time and head for the far right side of the street. you'll then (If you've survived the hail of fire from the BMPs) come up on a corner on the right side of the street at the Top. From this Corner - Which is just before hitting the first Square - you should see a Tango with an RPG about 50 meters up on the left side of the street across from the Square. He’s located just slightly behind a debris pile and must be taken out before the Abrams make the corner at the top of the street. If not - This Tango with the RPG will fire on the 1st Tank thereby destroying it and causing you to lose the Objective of "No friendly Tank casualties".

Once this Tango with the RPG is Eliminated, move up and into the Port-cullis on the right side of the street before arriving at the Square and the Enemy BMPs. Do NOT venture out into the street. Get down and get ready for some fireworks as your Armor (The 2 Abrams) will traverse their Main Guns to take out the Enemy BMPs located in the Square at the top of the street. Once your Armor has Eliminated both of the Enemy BMPs - you'll then receive an Objective Completed Message that you've secured that specific City Square .

Next - Move across the now clear City Square behind the destroyed Enemy BMPs and make your way to the right side wall just at the point where the Square gives way to the street going down and around the corner to the left. At this point, you'll see a patrol of 3 Tangos moving along the street at the bottom of the access to the Square you've just cleared out. Take out these Tangos with Extreme Prejudice, and once you're clear, move down the street in the direction of the Library's front side. As you approach the front of the Library you'll see a Patrol of 4 Tangos on rotation. Ensure that you move up on the right side of the street at this point and that you get set up in a good Ambush position to take out the Patrol of 4 Tangos patrolling in front of the Library.

Once you're set - you should see 6 Targets...

- 1 Tango on the Second level of the Library w/ RPG left side.

- 1 Tango on the Second level of the Library w/ a Sniper Rifle on the right side.

- 4 Tangos on Patrol in front of the Library.

your first Objective on this Shoot should be the Tango with the RPG. Once He’s down, your Immediate second targets must be the Patrol in front of the Library. Once They're down - Take out the remaining Sniper on the Second level of the Library - Right side. At this point be sure that you do NOT present to the BMP in front of the Library unless you want to get Killed real quick. Once the Abrams have pulled up to that Location - They'll take out the BMP in front of the Library allowing you to take an AT4 shot at the remaining Enemy BMP on the far right side of the Library in a small alley.

To take out that BMP - Move up on the Jeep parked on the Curb in front of the Library and take up the left side of that vehicle with your AT4 at the ready. Sight the Enemy BMP on the far right side of the Library in the alley and take 'Em down. This will allow the 2 Abrams Tanks to move up and secure the Second City Square .

The Path of the Tanks will take you by a small Cafe. At the far end corner of this small Cafe you'll see 2 Tangos on Patrol. Eliminate these Tangos and It'll clear you to move up to the Destroyed Cathedral and the City Square beyond that. In moving to Task the Tangos farther on up the Road beyond the Cathedral, it’s advised that you get the best cover you can and then lay 'Em out. I tasked the Tangos in the Square from the right side of the Street and once the closest ones to Me were down, I then moved left and came up on the left corner under the ruined Cathedral Arch. This afforded Me a great vantage point across the Square in which to further Task Enemy troops as They presented. The Tango equipped with the RPG in this Square is located as marked on the Diagram included with this Walkthrough. Once He and His escort of Enemy Tangos are Eliminated - you must further clear the square of all remaining Hostiles. To do this flank right into the Square and move along the right side wall until just before you come to the sidewalk in front of the storefront with the Glass windows. Now be wary as there'll be a Tango hiding in the right side corner waiting for you. That said - Make sure you get him first. Once this has been accomplished - you should move yourself along the sidewalk in front of the Store to the debris pile located at the far end of the Square. At this Point you'll come upon the corner of a street leading up and to the right. Break the corner and double-time it up to the debris pile located on the right. At the top of the street you will see 3 to 4 tangos on Patrol. Eliminate Them using the debris pile as cover and once they are Eliminated move up to the corner at the top of the street and get ready to take out another Patrol of 4 tangos rotating in the last and final City Square to be cleared by you and the 2 Abrams Tanks.

As you round the corner at the top of the street you'll see a Patrol of 4 Tangos on the far left side of the street in the Square. Eliminate Them If possible before the Abrams make it to your position but do not present around the corner - Or - The 3 remaining BMPs in the last City Square will cut you to ribbons. Let the 2 Abrams Tanks move up to the corner, rotate and then Eliminate the Enemy BMPs in the last City Square . There are 2 Men manning 2 60 Cal. Machine-gun nests. you can take 'Em out or let the Abrams deal with Them once They've Eliminated the Enemy BMPs.

At this point - you should call your C.P. and tell that Helo that’s been staying on station to move in for Extract because you're finished this Mission ...
