===Description===

This is a gameplay balance mod to make all of the weapons in the BP weapons pack behave consistently with the original GRAW weapons, and additionally adds penetration to ALL assault rifles. HOWEVER, this does not simply make all the assault rifles clones of the SCAR - I have individually tailored each weapon in the BP pack with unique stats based on real-world characteristics. Thus, each weapon will behave pretty much in the manner you expect from being used to the original weapons, but each weapon in the pack is unique.



The tailoring is all relative, using the SCARs as the baseline. So for example the SG552, with a 9 inch barrel and less than 2400fps muzzle velocity, is considerably less powerful and accurate than an M16A4 with a 20 inch barrel and over 3100fps muzzle. Beyond basic stats I researched real user feedback a little and also made some changes based purely on gameplay. The end result is not a dramatic difference between most of the weapons, but I like the tweaks.



===Changes from BP weapons pack and GRAW in general===

* Balanced all BP weapons to match behavior characteristics of original weapons

* Added bullet penetration to all rifles (it's assanine a 7.62 NATO wouldn't penetrate a picket fence) - you can now shoot targets through thin nonmetallic cover. This is OPTIONAL; different packages are provided.

* Significantly reduced the damage of 9mm weapons - it now takes up to ten bullets to kill a target with the Glock and Beretta. Much more realistic, I think, particularly against armored soldiers. It's also kind of fun to plug half a mag of G18 ammo into someone before they die

* Reduced the accuracy of the original pistols somewhat



===Random notes nobody cares about===

* The original weapon stats used integers for damage values (i.e. 1 for pistols, 2 for 5.56, 3 for 7.62 , or something along those lines) but I discovered if I used a low decimal value like .4, it would sometimes take ten or more bullets to kill someone, which as far as I am concerned means the game supports decimal values for damages. So, I adjusted every weapon's damage into the decimals, with relative differences based on muzzle velocities.

* Similarly to this, I used decimals in a variety of places where integers were formerly used. I think in the instance of the BAR stats (the little bar graphs for each weapon in the Inventory screen) it rounds the decimals back to integers, but it's not hurting anything and I don't see a need to change it

* Someone gave me sample code for penetration which supposedly controls bullet penetration beyond on or off, but this code might only be functional in GRAW2 - so, I tried to make different weapons penetrate differently based on caliber and muzzle velocity, but I'm not sure if that's working or they all penetrate the same. It's impossible to set up a control situation to test bullet penetration against AI. Regardless, I think the penetration makes the game a lot more realistic and more fun. You don't have to *shoot the boards off a fence* to kill the target behind it anymore.

INSTALLING



Note: This will overwrite the BP XML files. If you want to, you can back those up first, but keep in mind you can always get them back out of the BP v6 ZIP file.



1. Open the folder corresponding to the version you want to install (all penetration, no 5.56 penetration, no penetration).

2. Copy both directories (lib and units)

3. Go to your GRAW directory (mine is C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter , if you aren't on a 64-bit system it will probably be C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter )

4. Go into local\bp_weapons_pack_v6.0 and paste the directories there.

5. Confirm every time Windows asks you if you want to merge directories/overwrite existing files
