MONOLITH's GANGLAND To my friends who tested various beta versions of GANGLAND, please delete any previous folders and use this latest one. I have changed many things in the final hours before release, including some filenames and things that may cause problems if mixed with a previous version. TO MOD REVIEWERS: Please keep in mind my intentions with this mod. My vision of GANGLAND was not to specifically or accurately mimic real life, whether it be weapons,sounds,or anything else. My goal was simply to create something that is fun to play, with a little different style to it than the typical Ghost Recon stuff. I think GANGLAND is visually exciting, the music pieces immerse you in the mood, and the unusual storyline gives the player something new, a break from the usual military war stuff. I was not concerned with whether or not the muzzle velocity of the mac10 bullets was exactly right.I just wanted to give something 'cool' to the Ghost Recon community. I think I achieved that, and it wasn't easy. Thanks, and enjoy! ABOUT THE MUSIC: The music clips in this mod are owned and copyrighted by the original artists and their record companies. This is a non-profit product, and I hope that if any of those musicians play Ghost Recon, they will appreciate and understand that I have chosen their music to include here out of love and respect for their work. I gained nothing from this, so please don't sue me. For any players who would like to play without the music, simply Delete the sounds/music folder (just the music folder, not the whole sounds folder) and that should fix it for you. TO THE PLAYERS: The specialists in this mod have access to the M82 Barrett rifle. The version here is the modded version by Maniac, which like the real life version, can penetrate engine blocks and knock tangos into the air. Many of the GANGLAND situations are ideal for sniping before you send in your other teams, and the modded M82 is just a ton of fun to use. So I recommend you always bring one sniper with it, and have a blast.The gangbangers won't just die, they'll fly. Thanks Maniac. Also, there is a tweaked combat model in here, so that leg and arm wounds will not kill you or the gangbangers. Be prepared to expend lots of Ammo, and I recommend going for head shots whenever possible. SUPPORT: I would love to hear all comments about GANGLAND, both good and bad. In what way is it different from the normal game? New skins, yes, new missions - NO. :( Are there any real TOTAL conversions? All the ones I've tried so far use the stock missions. |
