This is part one of a two part mission scenario. Please read the briefing for details. There are a couple of things I’d like to mention, though. We have tested this map out with 4 players and it seemed to work OK. I don’t know how it will behave with more than four. There is a friendly tank in the mission that, other than directing it to waypoints, the script has no control over. It kinda does whatever GRIN hard-coded into it. So you will see it stop sometimes on its own, apparently targeting enemies. If you help clear out the bad guys, it will eventually move again. Be patient with it and hunt in the direction it’s shooting . It’s not stuck, it ‘sees’ a baddie and needs him dead before moving.
If you’re the type that likes to load up with the modded GL and about 100kgs of ammo for it, then you’re probably not going to like this map. There are hidden enemy that are gonna kill you a few times. They are not unreachable, actually they are right in front of you, but run and gun will most likely get you shot. You may curse me and say its too hard. You may get impatient with the tank and give up. I just wanted to try something different. It’s OK, I won’t be offended. But don’t ask for your money back.
On the other hand, if you use the tank for cover, cue off its direction of fire, scope the area ahead, exercise caution and patience and work as a team, it just might be fun.
Anyway, feedback is important to me. There is a part two of this scenario named ‘Dark Duty 2: TOG’. It will be released in the very near future, but I would like to know how badly\good part one performs first. Please e-mail or post in the GR.net forum with comments.
Thank you and good hunting…

Briefing
"Operation: ***Open the Trash Can***
Situational report: Three of our best, Col. Ronk Aram, Lt. Mack Sweeney and Master Sgt. Jude Wulff, have gone renegade. They are currently keeping company with the
ultra-extreme terrorist group 'RND', headquartered at a converted liquor factory near the edge of the city. Their intent is to organize the terrorists into their own
private army. This cannot be allowed to happen.
Operation OTC is the first of a two part strike mission. Your objective is to get into the compound. An Abrams has been tasked to provide means of entry.
STAY WITH THE TANK. Use it for cover. The crew will use their TIS (Thermal Imaging System) to indicate LOS of enemy, targeting on them. Use the tanks direction of fire to find the tangos. You must clear the immediate area before the Abrams can proceed. It will not move while enemy is engaged in its TIS.
They know we're coming for them. The area is wooded and brushy. There is a high probability of concealed snipers. Be prepared for a long and hard fight. Good luck...
UPDATED VERSION
Dark Duty 1: OTC Mod
This is an update to the first Dark Duty map. I have changed the beginning and the end a little to make it a bit easier per user feedback. The snipers at the beginning have been replaced with infantry and there are a few things to hide behind now. The ending at the sewer area also has some stuff to hide behind and the almost impossibly accurate sniper has been moved.
The biggest change is that the mission can now be completed if some idiot destroys the tank. It just never occurred to me that someone would do that when I made the map. My apologies for being so trusting. I thought the briefing spelled it out pretty well, but apparently there are some who don't read them and just want to blow up everything they see. So be it. Anyway, if you get on a server with one of these 'team players' and the tank is killed, the gate panhard will now appear when a human gets close to the gate. You know what to do from there.
Thanks to FGFodder and Snake for play testing. Special thanks to FI_FlimFlam for suggestions and the OGN gang for trying the early drafts out for me.

It has been brought to my attention that this map does a CTD when loaded for some folks. I would greatly appreciate it that if this happens to you, please email or PM me with any error messages you might get. Unfortunately, the playtesters and myself cannot get this to happen, so I need more info in order to attempt to fix it.
Any feedback is welcome. If it does work for you, please let me know also. I am concerned (and somewhat embarrassed) that this is happening.
Thanks!
