Description: Massive unofficial expansion pack for Ghost Recon with a huge campaign, new maps and models, and never seen before innovative features.

Set in the Central command area of responsibility, CENTCOM is a full Ghost Recon expansion pack with 12 new missions, each with an exclusive fan made map and command map. CENTCOM missions take place in the combat theaters of the current war on terrorism (OIF/OEF) with real-world-mission-objectives and realistic kit load outs. CENTCOM incorporates all aspects of real-world-mission-objectives into the mission campaign, including stealth, convoy hits, personnel elimination, search and destroy, and firefights.

This Mod is dedicated to the men and women of armed forces all around the world fighting the global war against terrorism, to the service men and women, and the families of service men and women who have lost their lives fighting in Operation Enduring Freedom or Operation Iraqi Freedom, and to those who lost their lives or family members due to the terrorist attacks on 9/11/2001



This Mod took several years to develop and consists of a very large amount of material and took a great deal of work to put togather. Alot of time whent in to making sure the mod was balanced realistic and consistant and that it all fit togather well. There are also alot of innovative things in this mod not created for ghost recon before and alot of items and material specifically for addon makers and scriptors to extend their mission making abilities. Because of the ammount of thought work and time that has gone into this mod we wish for it to be kept and played in one piece as is and not to be dissected apart into various compilation mods. The majority of the material in this mod was made exclusively for centcom and has never been released previous to its release in centcom and we would appreciate if it is kept that way and not removed from centcom to appear in a compilation. We support and encourage addon makers and mission scriptors to create mods and missions that require centcom activated and can use the centcom material in that way, and it was our intention that this mod would provide the needed elements in its current form to supply addon and mission makers new material without having to remove material from the centcom mod its self.


UNZIPPING INSTRUCTIONS

======================



CENTCOM is zipped using a high compression tool. This allowed the mod size to be reduced by over 100Mb from standard compression techniques.



To Unzip CENTCOM follow these instructions.



1. Use winrar from http://www.rarlab.com/ or Install the free 7z compression utility (visit http://www.7-zip.org/) for the latest version.



2. Drop the file archive Centcom Mod.7z (300,500Kb) into your Ghost Recon Mods folder.



3. Right click on the Centcom Mod.7z file and select 7-Zip > Extract Here.



CENTCOM is now installed, see the Readme.txt file in the "Centcom Mod" folder for usage instructions etc.

I can not Extract after completing all the requirements in Mission 6.

No issues with the Mod till now and I was enjoying it.

All the charachters are the same white guy with a beard, although one guy has a smaller beard.

After all enemies have been killed in mission 6, you move the terrorist leader to the extraction zone marked in green on your command map.  Use the command map and follow the instructions.  It will guide you thru the mission.

I love the general idea of this mod, and am playing it with joy.

But I must add; this mod is not finished in my honest opinion. 

I see terrain and/or buildings welded wrong to each other or to other terrain (yes welded, a modder knows what it means)

The enemies look like Arab people, but they don't talk Arab.

In stead, they seem to be speaking an African language, probably the Ethiopian voices from GR DS were used. 

Just imagine a game about the British or American army, and the soldiers speak French or Spanish. 

It gives the general idea that foreigners are all the same for the creators. 

This in my opinion is very sloppy and an insult to the nations involved.

 Last but not least, I have come across 4 missions now that are in great lack of triggers. 

I've had it happen a few times where I completed all objectives, so literally all objectives are marked as "complete" yet no endgame was triggered.

But also other triggers seem to be missing or attached to the wrong event, for example blowing up the Helicopter in mission 1. 

You can blow it to smithereens with anything like a rocket launcher and I imagine a couple of grenades would do the same, and it will blow up for real, break into parts and burst into flames, but the objective is only completed when you place a Demo Charge next to it.

Kind of weird to have  to place a Demo Charge next to what's left of a helicopter in order to have the objective "Destroy Helicopter" checked. 

This is just one example. I have encountered many. 

Was the mod finished (by what my definition of finished should be) I would rate it 9/10. 

Right now I rate it 5/10. 

It's just not finished.

 Did you download the patches for the Centcom modification?  I also think you are being a little too hard on the modification.  No one paid any of these people for the many hours of work they put into it.  It is a much more well polished modification than most Ghost Recon mods out there

I've been a GR fan since I started playing the PC version a little bit back in 2003 and 2005. I was also frustrated when I tried acquiring a copy of the first game for my laptop in 03-it didn't work. Now seven years later, after playing the PS2 GR DS and IT many times, I finally satisfied my craving when I bought GR Gold for my muchpowerful laptop. Lo and behold, compatibility fixes got it working.

CENTCOM has been one of the GR mods I enjoyed playing ever since I started downloading many mods a few weeks ago...and yeah, this one was good. Although reckneya was correct with the lack of endgame triggers (Mazar-e-Sharif was my first big endgame trigger chore; I remember there was a prison riot at the actual place), the AI is still worth watching out for. I'm halfway through the campaign (just finished the Taliban-leader capture mission; wow big mountains!), and I've reloaded quicksaves countless times because some of my men were killed by gunfire or mines. It's quite a challenge...even in Recruit mode. I'm not an American, but hats off to the modmakers, they did a wonderful job recreating the missions US troops handle in Afghanistan. I wonder if there's a CENTCOM version for Tier 1 operators...and no, I haven't even played Medal of Honor yet.

Ghost Recon 1 was the best game i wish when they bourt out advanced war fighter they followed the same line not Graw just inproved No 1 dont get me wrong i like Graw but Ghost Recon one i myself was way better

The job on the weapon models is great, and padronized (you don't get the feeling of "this weapon doesn't fit the mod, it's odd", you know). It was achieved using the same scopes in all the weapons (the sights of the M4 SOPMOD). The Mk18 (although a little over inaccurate) was a great addition.

The OPFOR weapons, well, they seem to be of lesser quality compared to the player ones. I think only using Earl weapons for them would better.

The mounted machinegun now have working ironsights and red tracers, a minimal detail that makes all difference.

The M4 Super 90 is really innacurate and has a very low effective range.The effective range of combat shotguns, in reality, is around 70 meters.

The game crashes some times while playing with CENTCOM, but nothing too serious.

The wound textures, well, they are the weak part of the mod. They are of very low quality. I personally prefer the original one over those. If you don't like them, the only thing you need to do is to delete the right textures on the mod or create a mod with other wound textures, like some included in the Mods/Misc here, and activate it with higher priority than CENTCOM.

Looked really good, but every time I choose campaign from the main menu ghostrecon.exe crashes to desktop, with DS and IT :( Into was cool though.

DK, make sure to delete all saves, maybe all replays too, desactivate the mod, activate it again, you know. Hope you read this. It happened to me with MVD Osnaz once.

I realize probably nobody will read this, but how the hell do you complete the second mission in Centcom? It says I need to capture a terrorist leader, eliminate enemy opposition with no civilian deaths, investigate a weapon cache and detonate an AA gun. I've demo'd the gun, investigated the cache and shot every(AND I MEAN *EVERY*) enemy on the map, and it still says there are more, that I need to find the leader.

THERE IS NO LEADER, ANYWHERE. I'VE SCOURED EVERY INCH OF THE STUPID MAP AND SHOT *EVERYTHING.* SOMEONE PLEASE JUST TELL ME WHERE THE STUPID LEADER IS.

Whoever designed this map is a fucking idiot.

Yeah, I take back everything I said, -I- am the idiot in this case. It didn't even occur to me that the creators of the mod would do something like make a secret room and disguise a door as a bookcase. I ended up finding him after noting wear marks on the ground in front of the bookcase, as if it had been swung open repeatedly over a long period of time.

I originally thought there was some kind of a programming error and the leader was stuck in a wall or something, but no. That was a very clever idea they had.

Mission 6, I have killed all the enemy (apart from the ones in the pick up that drove past me while I was NOT allowed to shoot - before I had met the informant. Now I cant get to them as they are off the walkable area of the map) I have captured the Taliban leader and following the on screen prompt I have moved him and my crew to the extraction zone. Then...nothing happens!!!

2048MEGABYTES - It seems like you know a bit about the game, whats happening? It doesnt work and it is spoling a great mod.

Well the mission 6 sems to have the same bugs for many peopl, me aswell... its to bad. I had the same problem on mission 2 first but it helped to reinstall the game. But seriously, i dont want to reinstall and reinstall and reinstall.... Besides that, the mod is awsome! :) Its still as funny as it was for some years ago! :)

Awesome mod 5 stars for me, only issue im having is the second campaign mission, cannot find the taliban leader, I guess im meant to do something when I come into contact with civvies as all the opfor are dead. Regardless quality stuff thanks.

An amazing mod that deserves much recognition, infinitely relayable and downright fun to play. Whoever created this deserves a job in the gaming industry (if they don't already). I prefer this to playing regular GR (yes, it's that good). The maps and kit loadouts are top notch and unlike so many other mods, the objectives actually work an you do not spend half the time trying to figure out if you completed the right task. Highly recommended. Any chance for a sequel???
