GR is originally a vert- game, what means when played on a widescreen monitor with a widescreen resolution, decreases the vertical component of the FOV. To make it hor+ , expanding the horizontal component of the FOV while keeping the vertical component roughly or exactly the same, its necessary to run Widescreen Fixer. Instructions: First of all, to run this application, you need Microsoft .NET Framework v3.5. You will also need 7-Zip to extract the files. Simply download "Widescreen Fixer BETA v2.0.0.0" from dopefish's page (also check there regularly for new versions) , plus the game module(s) you want, i.e. download "Ghost Recon" to play GR on widescreen with the proper FOV. Then simply extract the "Widescreen Fixer BETA v2.0.0.0" and the "Ghost Recon" game module you downloaded to any folder of your PC (they must be extracted to the same directory). To activate it, double click the application (Widescreen Fixer), choose the game you want to fix, also select the aspect ratio you'll play it (ex. 1 x 16:10 or 3 x 16:10). Then start the game, and to activate the widscreen fixer press ; (that's the default key). You should notice immediately a field of view change (you can turn the application on and off to check it). Important: This application is still under development so please click the "Public Release Thread" link below for more instructions and any future updates. There are also two mods available that enable 48:10 (triplehead 3 x 16:10 screens) and 16:10 (like 1680x1050 or 1920x1200 resolutions) in the release thread. |
