If you have played P2 you would have seen most of these items before.
File-types: For those of you not familiar with these type of objects, they are everyday objects (cases, computers, crates etc) that can be placed into a GR1 map using a script. They are either vehicles (.vcl) or guns (.gun) and each file-type has its own flaws and benefits.
Gun files: These are inert objects and have no collision plane (you can walk through them), however, they have an advantage, they do not appear on the planning/ tac map. They are often used as capture props (maps, files, documents etc) that can be used as mission objectives.
VCL files: These are effectively vehicles, and as such can be destroyed, carry destruction animation and other special properties. These objects can be viewed on the tac map, to prevent this happening an altered cmi.rsb file has been included, this will also prevent some other vehicles from appearing.
Heights: Some of the models have been exported at varying heights to simulate placement on different levels of table or similar surface. The height of such models has been included in the model name.
Destruction animation: Some of the .vcl types feature an animated sequence that triggers upon destruction. These are often animated sequences that are associated with capture of the object (laptop closes/ briefcase opens). Any associated sounds for these must be triggered in the script (sounds for the door/ spacebar versions are automatically triggered).
Some of these destruction (or death) animations are intended to be triggered in the script (usually by proximity) and some are intended as actual damage by weapons in the game.
Door/ spacebar trigger: Some of the .vcl types can be triggered by the spacebar. The limitation with these are that the door name for identical objects is also identical. If using a query in the script, it would be wise to limit each of these objects to one per mission.
Permissions: You have my permission to use these objects in your mods, you can include these in your own mod files (just credit me accordingly).
Please see the enclosed Placeables v1 Guide PDF document.
