swartsz 7 Posted September 7, 2003 Share Posted September 7, 2003 (edited) just opened my emailaccount and was shocked, 144 emails where blocked by the antivirusfilter of my ISP because they contained the Sobig.F virus. is it true this virus can find emailadresses on it own? although i did find some familair ones, and with familiar ones i mean at least one contained a emailadress of a member of the GR community. in all it looked very strange too me, but thank God for the antivirus filter and my new antivirus software! SnowFella 8 Posted September 7, 2003 Share Posted September 7, 2003 well...it scans alot of different files on an infected compoter for email adresses...including .txt files. Did you include that email adress in the readme.txt file for your mod? I know I did with mine and I got absolutely swamped for a few weeks with Sobig.F emails, unfortunately my ISP doesn't have an antivirusfilter so all of them eneded up in my inbox. Thank god for Norton Antivirus! & I did get a few from funny senders (it spoofs the email adress it sends from too)...including bajabravo@hotmail.com....and a few other adresses with modding connection.... swartsz 7 Posted September 7, 2003 Author Share Posted September 7, 2003 no it wasnt a emailaddress from the readme file in my mod. but as long as they are blocked by my ISP, i dont really care where they come from, will just sit it out and delete all these messages until they stop. rather sooner then later, i hope. still cant believe someone makes these kinds of viruses for fun!
