Bob The Nailer 0
it's way to detectable when using the nightvision goggles to see a sniper and i don't think it should be. i don't mind it as much with the ai but mano a mano it really urks me. check out this link to a thermal gallery of ghillie suits. My Webpage is there a modder who'd like to tackle this out there or am i the only one whom this bothers?
Sgt Rock 0
I agree - always thought it was too easy to spot a sniper, period. I noticed on the night maps with water (the farm) that the ghillie suit gets darker when it's wet. Not sure if there is someway to play with this setting? Pete
Parabellum 12
I don't think that there's any way to modify that aspect of Ghost Recon.

Ruin 17
Invisible Sniper by: Me! Check our equipment section. Because I used the terrain to create the ghillies, they're darker than most.
Matt03 0
I think the general problem with the night time ghillies is that the maps are not done right. Hear me out. One day I was test a mission at the night farm and I think the problem is that there are no shadows. Everything is done through the texture. I could be totally wrong but it is my opinion. Also NV can detect a little IR signatures in fabrics and other things but the glow needs to go. The original ghilie works good for some maps if you stay in the shade and don't move around a lot. It also works good if the spotting distances are equal to your own. Any way they need to change it and make attachments to use for the ghillie.
Cush1 0
Now I'm not a 100% sure on this, but i think someone (possible Earl or Jack 57) made a mod that adjusted the NV to decrease the "glow" effect that bothers people so much. I just remember reading about the mod somewhere, sorry I can't remember where I read it though. Cush1

Made the NV a little more darker to represent a 'second hand' feeling for the Rebels
X69RZX 0
Yes, Jack used in BOB. I also worked for a while to "fix" the NV. What I learned, or what appeared to be to me, is that when the NV is engaged, not only are the filters engaged, but there also seems to be some lighting that goes on. I noticed that when I toggled the NV on and off really quickly, the actor I was looking at was actually illuminated by the game engine. It's as if they actually glow, add the filters and you get GR's night vision. You can do what you like to the filters, but it's far beyond me to adress the lighting part, it's probly hard coded. I ended up making a NoNV mod, but never released it, because I figured turds would exploit it's simplicity. We did use it once for a GR.net M16 vs AK47 firefight, and that was a blast. I will give you any notes I have if you like. X "
supasniper 0
apart from the texture the rest of the NV is hard coded in and can't be changed
Sgt Rock 0
I noticed on the maps with water, the part of the suit that gets wet glows less. After a while the suit dries off, and glows uniformly. (pretty slick, imho) Is there any way to mod GR so the suit is always wet? Grebyte
Zeko 33
Is there any way to mod GR so the suit is always wet? Grebyte Yea with insertion in deep water "
F'n New Guy 0
any experienced player can tell u that with nv on a night map the best way to pick out a sniper is from the side flank him cause snipers mostly look in front of them not to the sides where i am
Chems 0
Something Ive always wanted to mess with the guille suit. I think the reason they show up more is cause of the alpha channel on the back. Alpha channels make thins brighter ive noticed in game. I think one day Ill make a whole new CHR, also a way to play with nightvision is put noise on it so its harder to see through it.
