evmiller
HOLY MOLEY!! These look awsome! Unlike alot of gun mods out there, I have homes for each and every one of these. I was wondering if you'll include a second M-14 model that features the standard brown color? I was thinking of giving the brown one to the regular troops and put the camo one in with my specilist's kits. Anyway it'll be nice to have a scope on the M-14 finally. I like using the M-14 becouse of it's stoping power, but sense I refuse to use an in-game zoom for any weapon without a modeled scope, I don't bring it as much as I'd like to. In MY game, my marine rifleman only have kits with M-16/M16GL and the M14. Both weapons are currently scopeless. Just my specialists get the neat M4 toys with scopes. I guess I can throw the rifleman a bone and give them the M-14 with a scope. Also, my rifleman can only get throwable granades with the M-14 kits, so an added scope will make those kits evwb more popular. Thanks in advance. Cant wait to get this mod. ReconSnake
Seems like you have good taste in blades then dagger - it is modelled after mine, which is a duplicate of the one I carried in service. I just recently got this Blackhawk Airborne Sheath for it: I definitely recommend it. Wolfsong, I know exactly which one you mean. I just can't bring myself to break that far from tradition lol. evmiller
Yeah, Ka-bar's are nice. I have the original straight-edge model #1217. Interestingly, I didn't have the Ka-bar brand while I was in the Marines. I actually used the Case XX model #334. The Case XX #334 is a reproduction of the prototype Ka-bar submitted to the Marines in 1941 that was initially rejected. The Kabar #1217 represents the final improved version that was adopted by the military which featured a thicker prommel, composite spacers to protect the leather handle from corrosion by the promel and handguard, a thicker leather handle which is more corrosive resistant, a slightly curved handguard to prevent snagging, and a more reinforced scabbard. The funny thing is that the despite not having all the improvements, the Case XX #334 I used still held up very nice during my 8 years of service. Couln't imagine the beating the improved Kabar's could withstand. I think the newer serrated and composite handled ones are nice, but the WWII relica ones have been field and battle tested and are a little piece of history which the newer varients aren't. Im also glad the vietnam style has been forgotten and the WWII style is once again the prefered style for USMC battle knives. Tollen
I ran over some speedbumps on my way here, but well, such things happen... Recon Snake, do you have any progress regarding this mod to report to us? Please!
ReconSnake
Some bad news guys - my 3+year old HD locked up a few weeks ago and nothing was getting it up again so I had to format her. 95% of my 3dsm work was not backed up yet and bit the dust. Made me sick to my stomach as each of those models represented hours (4-6) of work. I have not yet decided if I am going to have time to finish the mod now in a decent time frame so my FR mod may be dead in the water. With the holidays on us it would most likely be late Jan. at best before I could replace the lost material. Not to mention the guys that I was building the mod to play with are all overseas right now and most likely will be for awhile. The only good news is I now have 120gigs of HD space vs. 40gigs. I will be making some models for the upcoming UE mod though, including M4, M16, the Colt Commando, some M14 variants, and several sidearms including this one:

JTF-2
man, that REALLY sucks. I know that feeling when you loose a lot of stuff you spent a lot of time working on. It's not one of those feelings you really want to have ever again...it sucks. anyway, don't worry to much. There will be other mods and other projects.
