Stalker
Hi folks! I use GoldWave to convert mp3's to wav's but now I want to know if I can reduce the quality of the wav files that they are not so big. Is this possible ? If yes, what program do I need?? Lancer
You can use Goldwave to save your wav's in a large variety of formats. The problem is will IGOR reconcile them.
Chems
yeah I agree, inless its that specific quality you get a no go in IGOR. I dont think you can reduce the size.
San
For music I had in a mission once, I made the wav 8bit and 8khz mono, the lowest format possible (for that program), and it worked. Instead of 15MB the wav became 3MB.
Stalker
how? which program :punk:
Burke
First off. Find and use Cool Edit Pro. Its the best program out there. Second.. I prefer to use 44khz mono waves for GR. Igor seems to like them, and they sound the best. The lowest I will go is 22khz mono, and that is pushing it.
San
The software I used for converting was Precision Cd Wav Mp3 Converter_v1.0 (3MB) and it's free, look here http://download.com.com/3120-20-0.html?qt=...rter&tg=dl-2001 Cool Edit 2000 couldn't convert it to specified bitrates/frequency, not sure tho. Lancer
Stalker, you have Goldwave, that will do the trick.
Syncopator
If you get the chance...the best industry standard app fo sound manipulation is Sonic Foundry's Sound Forge - now at version 6.0. It is capable of doing anyhting from effects, processing, stretching and of course resampling at lower bit rates and sampling rate. CD format is 44.1 KHz at 16bit. ie. 10sec of CD audio = about 1Mb of filesize. Lowering the bit rate and sampling frequency will reduce size. As mentioned above - 22KHz is about as low as Id go - otherwise it starts sounding like crap. If anyone needs any help with audio manipulation for mods - Im happy to offer my services. Just PM me. Cheers.
