Stinger 0
Today I went and enrolled at school and got my schedule. I signed up to take Keyboarding Sem1 and then Visual Basic Sem2 as keyboarding is a pre requisite to VB and I don't yet have it. But they fudged up and gave me VB Sem1 and Keyboarding Sem2! Then come semester two unless I am really lazy I won't have to waste my time with keyboarding (I will maybe since I hear it is so easy a class).

Ruin 17
You're on Block Scheduling... Lucky bastage... I was on it my freshman year. Now I'm on this 7 class BS, what a crock... I've got some "fun" classes this year: (In order) Computer Engineering Technology 2, Honors English 11, Advanced Placement (AP) US History, PreCalculus, Criminal Justice 2, Earth Environmental Science (I'm the only person NOT a freshman), and then Spanish 1... ukh... This is gonna bite. But I get to drive to school in January, so it'll be good.
hephaestus 0
Pascal is one of my heros. Guy was amazingly smart and talented. Was a really thought-provoking Christian too. I'm goin into my last year of College. 17hrs this semester. It's been so much better than Highschool, so I think I'll pass on your offer...thanks though
Stinger 0
@hep lol ok your choice @Ruin...actually I'm on a 7 hour schedule too. Last year at the freshman center I wasn't but my hs has the 7 hour deal whereas Blue Springs South has block scheduling...on thurs they have 1.5 hours just for study hall i.e. a sleeping class! Major Maximum 0
sounds like you're going to a private school there stinger.... Ruin...does your state enforce the 2 year required of foreign language too?
CtheHammer 0
I think that a lot of colleges are looking for at least two years of foreign language to be on the high school transcript, so a lot of states are requiring it. I know GA requires it along with all sorts of other requirements (one year fine-arts, PE, health, etc.) C
Stinger 0
Nope its not a private school.

Nope, what Prodigy has is called "Block Scheduling" (at least here anyhow). @Major Maximum, yeah. The worst part is I, tchnically, have 12 credits of language from middle school (3 years of French and Arabic) but my HS wont let it count. So that sucks. So now I gotta suffer through Spanish untiol I grajeate... But once I go to college I'll get back on my Arabic I hope...
Stinger 0
But prodigy only has 4 hours for a whole simester. They dont switch off each semester do they? Its on every other day they switch...I must be confused I will google for it later
XavierOnasis 0
You learn Arabic well, and you can write your own ticket.
Ruin 17
Which is exactly why I want to learn it. @Stinger, the first semester you have 4 90 minute classes (we had 3 lunches -certain buildings went at certain times- which were 35min long each) with 6min inbetween classes. After the first semester you switch over to the other 4 classes.
tyovan4 4
my schools having block scheduling this year too.. i do not look forward to it.. my classes (not in order): FrontPage Web Design, Psychology/Sociology, Political Science, Honors World History, English 11, Health/PE, Physics, Advanced Math, and "Life Skills" (its mandatory, trust me lads) where we talk/learn about careers, interview skills, how to sleep in class , etc just this year and one more.. i cant wait until its OVER :punk:
Ruin 17
my schools having block scheduling this year too.. i do not look forward to it.. Trust me, it's TONS easier than this 7 class BS. just this year and one more.. i cant wait until its OVER :punk: Right with ya man; I'm gonna survive this year and slack off next year (technically I only need to take 3 classes next year.. ! Maybe I can leave school early; that would rock. :punk:

Damn Ruin you're lucky...in my middle school(or my 4 middle schools) no languages were taught...Last year I finished my 2nd year of French...so no more languages for me...I don;t think I would've kept up with 3rd year Francais. Stinger 0
I thoght prodigy meant he only had 4 classes (45mins) and then had 3 study halls for some reason lol nm I feel stupid
Ruin 17
@MM, Ah, but I did Middle School in a Private Lebanese school. If it weren't for the fact my parents tought there, we would have had to dish out $16K a year for my sis and I to go there (thnkfully we got in free, lmao! ) @Stinger, yeah; then 90mins is a bear, but the less Homework and tests makes up for it. hephaestus 0
You guys just tough it out and keep up the grades. You all will love college. I never did block scheduling during HS, but I know I like college scheduling better than my HS. Only bad thing is that most colleges are on the semester system instead of quarters. I wont go into the differences. Just know that college is a blast, unless you change your major every year...I've never changed mine, thankfully.
OsM_Prodigy 0
ruin got it right. i have 4 classes this semester, 1 hour 30 mins each, with 6 mins in between and a 30 min lunch after the first 30 minutes of 3rd Period(this is different based on where your class lays in the campus). and when next semester swings around, i go to the other four classes.
