SCO Spyder 0
Hey, i am curious on how to put on pockets and the other items like that on my character. It seems like when i get the greyscale of the pocket and put it on the leg, then i add the camo, its like its not even there. Just a normal leg with the camo on it. Maybe i have to use immagination and add the camo pattern to the pants first, then open the pocket and basicly draw my own stuff onto the pocket to make it look like a normal pocket again or somethin, i dunno. Im just askin in case theres an easier way out there. Thx for all help. bye
Argyll 1
What you must do,with greyscale is add a colour pallete, otherwise it stays grey.! What I do is use the Multiply feature to get the right depth of the pocket. I'm assuming you have the wrinkles base .psd from ruin?If not get them. You also have to merge the pockets into the main skin, otherwise again they'll not show!

Ok, im not all that great with adobe photoshop 7 yet, and i dunno where to select colour pallete from or how to use it. The problem im having is this. When i cut the pocket from a different picture, it had the camo pattern, and all the pocket details still on it. When i paste the pocket and use the marquee tool to select the whole pocket and go to edit, fill, pattern, then the camo pattern i want, it looks like its going over the pocket details and i just have a tiny square of the camo pattern. I wanna get the pocket details on it too.

SCO Spyder 0
Hey, i was wondering if anyone has a tutorial on mainly just putting other objects onto a skin. I have made a few skins, but there really nothing to special because i am a beginner. I am wanting to make more advanced skins, except i cant find any tutorials on adding pockets or vests or anything like that. I was wondering if anyone knows where i can get somethin like a tutorial for the more advanced part of skinning. I have read Ruins tutorials and IF there is somethin in it for what im looking for, i didnt understand it i guess because i didnt see anything. So ya, basicly if you know where i can get a tutorial, or if u can help me out on AIM or MSN messenger or write up a quick n easy tutorial and e-mail it to me, i'd be VERY GREATLY APPRECATIVE. Well, thx for your time, bye.
McNamee 0
I way I do it is simple, and can produce great results. 1. Take a pocket from the other leg (copy and paste) 2. Paste onto where you want the new pocket 3. Get the smudge tool and smudge any seams that are on your new skin 4. You may spend ages trying to find a suitable place to cut out the pocket so it doesnt look too obvious you have copied it, and with skill with the smudge tool, it will look like it was meant to be there in the first place It may take ages to master this way... I'v got a new question. What if i just cut out the hard work part and copy the 2 legs wit the pockets already on. May be the easy way out, but what can i say, thats what i always go . Your all telling me how to get pockets on, i know how to get pockets on, my problem is when adding the camo pattern, it makes it look like the pocket isnt there anymore. Anyone know how to fix this? supasniper 0
Put it over the cammo pattern and make it transparent
Ruin 17
No, use layers. One layer of the actual pocket and one as the camo. Just like you would the skin normally. Bags and vests are A LOT harder, but pockets can work as normal skins. Just like in my tutorial.
dekela 0
once i paste the pocket on i set it to either multiply or darken. then adjust the brightness/contrast to get the desired results. using this method the cammo already on the pants shows through the pocket, and the seams are still visible. cheers......
