hey everyone, i just have a suggestion for the downloads page on this site. To make it easier to find the mod your looking for, woudn't it be great to put the mods in alphabetical order? i think it would save alot of time.

As of now, they're in order of release date. I get the feeling that's the way it's gonna stay.

EDIT:

Noticed this:

I was just wonderin if something could be done to put the downloads page inot some kind of order, like alphabetical maybe. Because with the small fonts and what not it is sometimes hard to find an exact item.

cheers

I had asked about this before and even had volunteered to alphabetize them, but it was explained to me that we don't have control over the order that the mods are listed. I don't recall the exact explanation as to why that is.... :wall: :wall: :wall:

I'd assume it has something to do with the way our deal with @War and FilePlanet works. Each mod we upload has an ID number to it, so it's easier to find in the database.

zjj has asked me to do this already, but I didn't do it, here's why. I can't.

I maintain the dbase, upload the mods etc, but the backend that runs the dbase and prints out those neat lists of mods in different catagorys, that is all coded by Akira @ war and I have no way of altering it.

Personally I prefer date order. Why do people want it alphabetical? To make it easier to find a specific mod they are looking for? There are two ways around that.

1. Do what I do and install Google Toolbar. Now, whenever you are looking for a specific mod, open the downlaods page, type the name of the mod into the google toolbar, and click the magnifying glass to have that word found on that page.

2. Don't use this site for downloads - use @war who have a great page all set up that WILL list in any order you want including alphabetical. You can bookmark that page right here!

Hope that explains, and helps.
