Can you join a game in progress?

... or does everyone have to start at the same time?

My buddy can't join if my game is already in progress- is that normal?

Or did I miss a settting somewhere? I have allow remote users checked.

Go ahead and uncheck the allow remote users, because til the game restarts everyone who joins has to wait til after the game restarts.

Yeah, thats normal.

Just to clarify:

If somebody joins a Server/Host while a mission is in progress (folks are on the map) then they will sit in the "Joining Lobby" until the mission ends.

In the "Joining Lobby" you will not be able to see the map (like in observer view) but you will be able to read and send chat messages and see the in-game messages.

To join a mission you must be in the main "Equipment/Selection Lobby" before the "launching" count-down starts.

TBH I hope that it stays this way in GR2. As it must use up a lot of the servers resources to allow an incoming player to be able to get connected and be able to watch the game whilst it is happening?
