Parabellum
Love it, worth the wait for sure. Only things I really noticed were the lack of periferal vision with the optics, and that there is a red dot sight when you use the iron sight view on the M-14/ACOG. Also, why not Desert recon guys? I never finished the desert boonie texture. It's on my list. I'm working on an ACOG optic that's translucent instead of just black, but I've run into some stippling issues. I'm glad that you guys like the addons! I actually had a couple of missions for the addon, but I lost them when my PC took a dive last week. I'll get a couple done as I'm able to do so. firefly2442
What do you use the make the skins?
Parabellum
What do you use the make the skins? I used PhotoShop 7 to make the textures, and then I use Max to model, apply textures, and 'bake' the textures.

It works, but it's not perfect. It's also handled by an INIT script in the rifleman class, so only riflemen and characters who derrive a particular trait from the rifleman class will be able to turn the PEQ-2 on and off. For everyone else, it's just a rifle with a non-functional laser.

Parabellum
For those of you who either haven't downloaded the addons yet, or didn't bother to read the readme files, I included two variants of the MP5 in the weapons addon. They're not assigned to any character by default, but you can assign them to units via script in the unit's INIT field. EDIT - I'm thinking of doing a SWAT or HRT addon for OFP next. I've got some ideas on how do simulate flashbangs, hostage rescues, and compliance/arrest situations. firefly2442
Cool. I can just see a bunch of swat guys landing on top of a building in a helicoptor and clearing the rooms with flashbangs and "clear!".....
Parabellum
Cool. I can just see a bunch of swat guys landing on top of a building in a helicoptor and clearing the rooms with flashbangs and "clear!"..... I have yet to be able to get AI pilots to land on (or hover above) buildings, but I can do it if I fly the bird. It looks really cool too! I'm supposed to work on some body armor for Tollen, and as soon as I get that done, I'll either start on some SWAT guys, or re-work my current soldiers, depending on the feedback I get. Parabellum
It's a sad day in the House of Para. Before I went to bed tonight, I discovered that I somehow neglected to back up my textures for my MP5 series. I do have the converted .pac files that I used in OFP, which I was able to convert back to .tga format, but they're not quite as good as the originals, maybe 95%. I'm also missing two textures, which I'll have to redo. Probably 2 or 3 hours worth of work. I was so upset that I nearly cried when I found that I didn't have the textures. If it weren't for the fact that my wife was standing there, I think I would have bawled. The good news is that I still have the master texture that I used to 'bake' all the other ones, so, if worse comes to worst, I can just retexture the MP5 and re-bake the texture. Yodasplat
Well... this went un-observed for a while but this thread has been growing and I think it deserves its proper place up in the pinned sections with all the rest of our favorites. Parabellum
Man Para, if theres anything at all i can for ya, lemme know man. Sorry to hear that, i know what it feels like..... gl bro. I appreciate the offer. I should be able to recover; I've still got my 'master' texture, and I'm just going to remap and unwrap all the sub-objects again. Of course it's going to take quite a bit of time, but it's worth it, because the textures I was able to recover from OFP just don't do the originals justice. This time, I'm going to render them larger too. I'm going to do the main textures in 1024x1024, rather than 512x512.
supasniper
Some where in either this or the other OFP thread some one said about a mod that makes a dust cloud when a chopper lands, i can't find it so can any one help?

There are quite a few addons that create dust when you land. My personal favorite is by Vektorbobson. You can find it at OFPEC. Operation Flashpoint Editing Center is the source for addons, scripts, and tools for OFP. If you download the new BAS MH60 pack, you'll find that the BAS helicopters already have dust effects scripted right in.

I'd go ahead and download patch 1.91 just to be safe. IIRC, I didn't use any scripting that's not available in 1.85, but having the latest version can't hurt. Also, you may want to look into downloading 1.92 beta, as it fixes some serious issues with DirectPlay, especially if you're thinking of playing online, which I've never done in OFP. Go to Opflashpoint.org and read a couple tutorials. But, if you just want to get in-game and blow some stuff up, just place a couple of groups from the West, and couple from the East, give them waypoints, and go at it. Firefights in OFP are enough fun to keep you occupied, because they're so dynamic.
