Parabellum
Yeah, I just got those MH-60's and WOW! I liked the BAS Ranger/Delta pack but everything else they made I was never fond of...UNTIL NOW! Those birds freakin' ROCK! How do you script the whole fast roping or ladder insertion with them Para, I'm slowly getting into the more advanced things in the editor like triggers and changing loadouts on units. How do you use all that stuff with the MH-60's? Thanks man Oh yeah, forgot. I love that M4A1 with EoTech they included with the pack also, that thing's sexy! That whole JAM concept seems pretty nice too, what do you think about it? You don't have to script anything. Just create a squad, and make yourself the leader of the squad. In the INIT field of the squad leader, type "_x moveincargo yourbirdhere" foreach units this replace yourbirdhere with the name of the helicopter. Once you're in and the bird is moving, you'll have a fastrope option available. Simply select the men you want to fastrope, and then open the map and click a spot. The bird will fly there and your men will rope down. Concerning the BAS Delta/Rangers guys, I personally think they're pretty crappy. I mean, the men themselves aren't bad (other than the camo being not even close to US issue) but BAS weapons just suck. They're half-textured, and they look like utter crap. The weapon sounds are also just horrible. The new MH60 pack is the only thing I like from BAS. @ Whisper44: There are some screenshots of the MH60's at Ballistic. I don't have any screens of my addons up yet, but I should have a couple by tomorrow morning.
DeltaDude
Yeah, the camo isn't close at all, I don't like that aspect of it. I guess the only reason I really like the weapons is because I don't know of any other tac'd out M4A1's along those lines, if you know of better ones I'd appreciate it if you pointed me towards 'em. You are right about the weapons though...especially when you compare 'em to say...EARLs work If ya know of better ones though, I'd love to see 'em. Can't wait to see yours either
Parabellum
SCREENSHOTS! A view through the ACOG scope: Some desert soldiers: Desert Rifleman (weapon camo will definitely change) M16A4 w/ACOG scope, 1st person view: M4 w/flatmounted ACOG scope: Reconnaisance soldier: Rifleman with SAW gunner in background: Desert SAW gunner: A different soldier model, note alternate camouflage pattern, and different LBV. A funny thing happened on the way to the... Keep in mind, these are beta images, and may change quite a bit before I actually finish them. DeltaDude
The woodland BDU's look kind of bright to me, I dunno (More I look at it, it look pretty nice.). Maybe it's just me though. Those 3-Color DCU's are without doubt the finest I've seen for OFP though, I just love 'em! I like the Desert/Woodland mix you have on the last one also. Sorta like Sucheys current Marine project only with the coffee stain helmet camo cover. I like it. I think those soldier models totally show up BAS also. I hate those default soldier models, the helmets just look so damn weird on 'em. Yours look like regular PASGT's, love it! I'm not a big weapons expert but isn't that just an M-16A2 with an ACOG on the carry handle? I thought the A4's had the RIS and detchable carry handle. Either way, love the way the A2 looks with the ACOG on it. When I got the Netherlands Marine one they had the ELCAN on it and I thought an ACOG would be awesome. LBV's look great also. I do got a quesiton, do ya think you could put an 82nd Airborne patch on some of your guys, I don't think they have a good 82nd Airborne skin out there. No worries if ya don't want to though. Oh yeah, are you going to dan EoTech or Aimpoint for the M4's or M-16's. I know...askin' a lot of questions. I'm just getting into OFP WAY more then GR now is all. You'll make one hell of an addition to the OFP modding community IMHO.

Please click the back button on your browser to return to the place that you came from. Thank you, The Management That's wierd. The picture is there, and showing up fine. I don't know what's causing that error, but I apologize. @ DeltaDude: Yeah, the woodland cammies are a bit bright, and it's on my list of things to work on. It's the best I've come up with so far though. As for the M16, look closely, you'll the the mounting screws for the carrying handle. I didn't add a RIS, because I wanted to keep a somewhat 'traditional' look on the M16. I'm still working on the PEQ-2. If I can't get it working to my liking, then I'll probably just take it off; I don't want it there if it isn't doing anything. Anyway, here's a list of the current units and their primary weapons: 1st Infantry Division Rifleman - M4 w/flat-mounted ACOG scope Desert Rifleman - M4A1 Automatic Rifleman - M249 SAW Desert Auto. Rifleman - M249 SAW Grenadier - M16/M203 Desert Grenadier - M16/M203 Machine Gunner - M2140B Desert Machine Gunner - M240B LAW Soldier - M16 Desert Law Soldier - M16 Officer - M4A1 Desert Officer - M4A1 Medic - M16 Desert medic - M16 RATELO - M16 Desert RATELO - M16 Recon Soldier - M4 w/handle-mounted ACOG Recon Grenadier - M16/M03 Recon Machine Gunner - M249 Para Recon Marksman - M16A4 w/ handle-mounted ACOG Recon Sniper - M14 w/ACOG scope Recon RATELO - M4A1 Generic US Units US Peacekeeper - Weapons assigned randomly Desert Peacekeeper - Weapons assigned randomly Soldier - M16A4 Desert Soldier - M16A4 The standard sidearm for this particular mod is the Sig-Sauer P220. I know that's not standard US issue, but it's a much better gun than the M9, and my P220 model looks cooler than BIS's M9. The peacekeepers are assigned armpatches/weapons at random by the game each time you start a mission or quit and retry a mission. The soldier and Desert Soldier can be assigned various armpatches using 'this setobjecttexture...' The soldiers can also recieve random patches/weapons by calling a simple script within the unit's INIT field. I've also organized groups, based on my research of US Army small-infantry organization. Each infantry squad is made up of 11 men - A squad leader (sergeant), two fireteams of four (leader, rifleman, autorifleman, and grenadier), a RATELO, and a medic. I've also planned armored and air units for the near future, because the 1st Infantry Division also has full armored and air support batallions. The_Slink
Niice! I don't have the game but they look very good. Can you do the same stuff in this editor as you can in Igor?
Parabellum
Niice! I don't have the game but they look very good. Can you do the same stuff in this editor as you can in Igor? Yes. And more. Alot more. OFP's mission editor is far superior to IGOR in every way imaginable. You can even set time of day, date, month, and the weather forecast. Tides rise and fall depending on the date. Stars and the moon move about the sky properly. OFP has (somewhat) real physics. Sniping takes skill, and bullets drift and drop over time. OFP is just more complete than GR. GR is still prettier though.
ScarfaceSAS
damnit Para if you don't quick posting stuff about OFP...I'm going to have to go buy it. Para and his OFP topics. Parabellum
Fast-roping, eh... Any BHD scenarios in there? Eh...About that same as in GR I guess. For some reason, though, I get the impression that the OFP community doesn't have the close ties that some on the GR community does, because BHD doesn't seem to be a big issue. There's a huge Mog map though. The Mog itself must be 500 or 600 m across. There's alsoa base that's a good 7 or 8 miles away. I DL'd it because it looked like a good urban combat map, which it is. 2nd Ranger
'Spose there isn't much call anymore, what with an actual BHD game out for purchase.. So if they haven't received much of a warm welcome then they can't of been that good (I assume)?
Parabellum
'Spose there isn't much call anymore, what with an actual BHD game out for purchase.. So if they haven't received much of a warm welcome then they can't of been that good (I assume)? It's hard to say. Because OFP missions can be so much more intricate than GR missions, a mission that would absolutely rock the GR world gets tossed in the bin by OFP fans. In OFP, you're expected to have cutscenes, dialogue (when you script a character to say something, his lips move and his facial expressions change.), and all sorts of special effects. Good gameplay is a very small part of what makes OFP missions good.
2nd Ranger
Yeah, it's alot more cinematic than GR, like when you're playing Sp on Gr, the Ais are basically only there so you can use their guns. No interaction, no help, nothing.
The_Slink
Got the game from a friend who couldn't wait to get rid of it. Cool is an understatement. It's just the original will your mod work (skins, weapons, vehicles) work with it or *must* I have Resistance?
