Dark Ranger 0
Well, we need some information about your hardware and software: - What kind of processor you have - How much System RAM you have - What make and model is your video card, and how much On-Board memory it has. (If you have On-Board video, let us know) - What kind of Sound Card you have. (If you have On-Board Sound, also let us know) - What Operating System you are using (i.e. 98, 2000, XP Home/Pro) Allow us this info, and we'll get you running as best you can. EDIT: Also check out this post.

Specter 0
Im afraid you are about as good as you're going to get on a laptop bro, not to mention you just meet the minimum video RAM requirement for GR.
XavierOnasis 0
Easy fix. Switch to 800x600 That's about the only way you're going to raise your framerates.
Dark Ranger 0
I'm afraid I have to concur with SOTOPhantm's post. Most laptops just don't have the hardware specs to run a game at superior frame rates. However, there are a few things you can do to improve performance. - Try out XO's suggestion - Bring up the In-Game console in Single Player Mode, and type togglemovetrees, hit enter, then hit Esc. This pauses or resumes the "waving motion" of the trees, and will probably increase FPS. - Turn off All Shadows (Character and Vehicle). - Lower your Effects Texture and Details down. - Be sure all programs are closed prior to launching GR. Things like Internet and Word Processing Apps can suck system resourses on laptops. See where that gets ya.
Gen_Kamikazi 0
Thanx for the replys above. I followed the suggestions and changed the resolution to 800 x 600 and turned the shadows off and everything is set to low. Toggle move trees is off, so no moving trees I tried using the maps with plenty of trees, like wilderness and valley where i seemed to experience the greater lag. View at the sky frame rate around 62fps Running around with aiming at trees and with zoom on and off frame rate around 55 - 62fps, rarely may drop to around 45fps. Is there any of the following I can slightly tweak or compensate as to stop everything looking too blocky or do I just have to live with what Ive got to achive that frame rate. Ghost Recon Settings as follows: Resolution: 800 x 600 x 16 Z Buff: 16 bit Effects Detail: Low Shadows: Non at all Models - Tree: Low Character: Low Textures - Map Texture Detail: Low Character Texture Detail: Low Effects Texture Detail: Low Mipmap Textures: Unchecked Compress textures: On Character Smoothing: On Gamma Setting - 50 Thanx again in advance
Dark Ranger 0
Unfortunately, no. It's a trade-off situation with your laptop: - To get better frame rates, and to improve playability, you reduce graphics quality. - To get better aesthetics, you trade game performance and get lower FPS. The only solution is, if you have a desktop computer with better hardware, install GR on that hard drive. Maybe I'll see ya On-Line sometime, General.
Gen_Kamikazi 0
Thanx for your help Dark Ranger and the others who replied and helped. Guess I will have to upgrade my desktop! SteveYates 0
Mipmap Textures: Unchecked Would you not want mipmap on, to lower the resolution of distant objects? - Steve Yates - I drank WHAT!? - Socrates ~ Taglines by Taglinator ~
Gen_Kamikazi 0
Thanx for the help guys, Even tho my graphics are blocky it has definately improved my playability as I dont get the lag that I experienced previously. Alway was the one who ended up dead when it was one on to one due to lag! My killing rate has now started to hit them double figures something that I was struggling to achieve and was getting me very frustrated. And again cheers
