Xian Saint 0 Posted July 31, 2003 Share Posted July 31, 2003 I must say that I recently was "customizing" one on their site...and while I would agree that they are a tad on the expensive side (my customized PC came out to nearly 3000 grand...which I thought was pretty good until I realized I thought I had clicked the 18" flat screen when in actuality I hadn't selected a monitor) *gulp* - if you pick one of their lesser models...and just don't get all the extras...you can walk away with a pretty quick rig and a fairly decent price... The power used by the computer is balanced by the fans to keep the machine running cool and fast. I am saving my money for one. Too bad I need to save 1500 or so more. But when I get my computer I won't have to upgrade for at least a few years. We're talking Pentium 4 3.2Ghz, 2GB RDRAM, ATI Radeon 9800 Pro video card. Can anyone say fast. Especially when you go for the processor the top of the line is always over priced. Video Card? I would go top of the line on that. Ram? instead of 1 gig get 512 and upgrade later you'll save a bunch. Speakers?? Alienware only uses top of the line I figured I’m sitting two feet away I’ll buy a cheaper set at BestBuy or something. Monitor? Alienware has competitive prices on 19inch. I like my monitor. Special Colored Case, Mouse and Keyboard? Why? I just got black Case, Keyboard and Standard Mouse saved around 160.00 by not selecting a special color. That all I could think of right now my Alienware I got in March for 2600.00 it is P2.6ghz 512 Ram 120gb hd 9700 Video Card 19” monitor Gamepad (get one of these a must have for FPS!!!)
