Cat-Man 0
I have been playing around with modifying existing gun files and reticles, etc. 1. I can keep them working in the existing Mod, however when I try to delete the weapons I do not want of the mod, it causes the game to crash, What am I missing or not doing right? 2. Does the numbering of the files matter in the sense of the ordering of the weapons in the various selection screens (Rifleman, Demo, Support, etc)??? 3. I am building an exclusive Silenced SOPMOD roll up, just need the advice to make it a slim mod. I have the RSB's, sounds, gun files, etc. Cat-Man beggeth.... Avey 0
1. What are you deleting, .gun files, model files etc?? If you want to 'deactivate a weapon in a mod' delete the .kit file in the kits folder. 2. Yes (took me a while to work this out too ) Just rename them alphabetically. Eg - If you want kit X to be the first in the roster just name it Cat-man-01. 3. You should only need, .gun files, kit files, models, sound, textures and kit icons i think
Cat-Man 0
Thanks Avey, will give it a try, Hoo--Ya
Mr. Lothario 0
As far as I know, the easiest way to deactivate a given kit is to simply remove its entry from the relevant restriction file. If you want to deactivate a gun, remove entries for all kits which use that gun. Kit restriction files also come into play in ordering kits. The order of the kits in the kit restriction file determines the order they'll show up in in the game. At least, that's what I recall. I haven't tested that in a while, so I could be wrong. Avey 0
In SP, kits are ordered in alphabetical order
Mr. Lothario 0
Ahem. In that case, prepend "In multiplayer" to the beginning of my previous post. : D That's good to know, since I'm soon to try to make the kits in my mod available in SP, and I could see myself getting rather frustrated trying to figure out how to control ordering. Thanks for the tip. : )
Cat-Man 0
Thanks Brother Warrior's, Will take all on board and work into my SOPMOD Frenzy, I am calling it Rock Arsenal, and I named and numbered kits: Arsenal-01, Arsenal-14, etc, within the kit sub-directories, rifleman, sniper, etc. I hope it works and slims down my mod, Later, Roger out.., Cat-Man Jim
