NiteStalka
where are you when you do this? out in the open, in the woods, in a town, or in sparse cover?
Mesh
NiteStalka unlike GR where u play on 400mx400m maps, in OFP u basically play on 3 islands the size the hawaii (well maybe not that big, i dunno how big hawaii is, but they're HUUGGEEE, each one is as big as a small country). the maps have villages, forests, plains, mountains, everything, although i've only played the demo so far and am very impressed. Rocky
This is why Operation Flashpoint is better than Ghost Recon . http://www.geocities.com/micaoct/bike.jpg GR has motorbikes!
Mesh
Yeah, but you can't ride them and do tricks
Parabellum
I'm curious, can an average computer (660 mhz, 448 megs RAM) play OFP happily? If so, I think I might be taking a trip to the bank. IMHO, no.
Parabellum
I actually uninstalled OFP yesterday. I was running out of room and, since DYNACOMP is my main focus right now, I had to dedicate the space to the mod.
DeltaDude
For all you guys that don't like all the default units and would like a better looking way to play the campaign I've got something to recomend. It's a lot of downloading of a LOT of addons, and it makes the requirements for the game go up a bit, but the game just looks SO much better with this. http://ofp.gamezone.cz/_hosted/bratty/PB/site/index.html Here's some stuff showing what it does. Some of the units replacing default BIS ones. Better view of new infantry.
Sart
AI - one word, wow. The boys sure can take care of themselves in a fight. I saw one guy get shot in the legs, and since he couldn't stand up, he crawled over to the squads medic and got patched up. Really neat to see in action. The AI commanders are great as well (Better then me lol), they dish out orders so fast that it really keeps you on our toes. "You, blow up that BMP", "You, shoot that guy, and then go cover so and so.". "You, run over there and get patched up by that medic". Simply awesome. I also love that animation when they hold the M16 with one hand and look through there binoculars with the other, very nice.
Mesh
Sart where is this tank that u can drive in the demo? i came close to whiping out all the enemy today, but a wounded prone straggler got me, i missed him completely, he was hiding quite well, and was amazingly pretty close. I asked those questions to see if I can help bettering tactics of yours so you won't get capped by a tank cannon.

Rocky
Yeah, but you can't ride them and do tricks Yeh you can. Back on topic - what game is it you are on about Sart - OFP? I see mention of a demo so I am confused and can't get the gist of this thread.
Sart
Sart where is this tank that u can drive in the demo? Your infantry, you cant drive the tanks. Just a Russian jeep and a US jeep. However there are enemy T80s and BMPs that enjoy shooting at you. Back on topic - what game is it you are on about Sart - OFP? Yeah, I bought the game and its 2 expansions, and love it. Theres just so much to do, and the AI is just crazy good (Waaaaay better then GR's). And only for $30!
Mesh
Ah I see, I thought u meant that u could drive a tank in the demo, yeah there is about 5-6 armoured vehicles to destroy in the demo.
Rocky
Hmm, and now would be a good time to buy because a) it's very cheap, b) it's patched and stable and c) it'll run great on today's PC. Where can I buy some time to play it though,

Mesh
The bundle pack is $50 here, except i need to first buy tickets to a gig, so i'll probably be getting the game in a month or 2.
NiteStalka
For those who have or soon will have the Resistance expansion. I recommend the WarGames addon and conversion pack. Totally makes everything more realistic than it is. For one you can bleed out. hehe..... Jex
I'm not quite suer how anyone cannot like this game LOL. This is simply the best FPS out there, even today. You'll not find more mods for any other game. The controls are clunky to begin with, but after a while (and possibly some re-mapping), you get used to things and it works well. I'm actually pretty amazed they managed to pull it off, considering how complex this game is. As my friend says, it's GR on steroids. It has drivable vehicles, decent damage modelling (ie you can knock out tyres, turrets, barrels, etc), it has real time light and shadows. OK the graphics may be dated, but back when it was made, how many PC's could process those huge landscapes? Anyway Bah Humbug to graphics, they don't make a good game. This game has so much more over GR it is simply unfair to compare the two. GR is a great game, so is OFP. I think if you give it another go, and play with friends online using voice comms, you'll have a much better game. Oh and there's CTI - we regularly play this mod as it involves capturing a whole island - it's a mini war in one, and with friends planning startegies and stuff, makes for some excellent gaming - especially when those pesky russian launch an attack on your base with 5 t-80's steaming in, and all you have is a LAW
