DWilliams11 3
Posted a while back saying how I couldn't access secure websites or log on to MSN... well I still have the problem. I've tried calling tech support and all they did was give me a web address that didn't even work! Problems Include: -Not being able to log-on to msn or messenger services. Including AOL messenger and MSN messenger and windows messenger. And if I still had ICQ, i'm sure that wouldn't work either! -Not being able to log-on to hotmail to check mail. Big hassle. -Not being to go onto any secure site. For example, I can't DL Agryls M4 mod because I can't log into to FILEPLANET! JEEZE! -Can't go on to Washington Mutual website to check money... secure website. -Anything that involves me entering personal info on the net... I could not order from Amazon or whereever, for example. ~The lady I talked to, said it was probably on my end, a security setting of some sort. I've tried everything to fix it. The thing is, it just happened one day. I wasn't fooling around with any settings... One day... I just couldn't sign in anymore... almost 4 weeks ago... HELP!!!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!! Searched all over the net and all I've found are forum threads JUST LIKE THIS ONE! WITH NO RESPONSES!!!!!!!!!! ARGH!
Dannik 43
I'm assuming you are using Internet Explorer under Windows. As such, you may want to check your cipher settings. On the IE toolbar, click Help -> About Internet Explorer If the line "Cipher Strength" doesn't have a 128 after it, then that very well may be the issue. This Microsoft article describes how to fix the problem, if this is in fact it. Note: This only applies if you are running Windows 95, 98, 98SE or ME.

DWilliams11 3
It does say 128 bit! Thanks dude! My connection is a LAN located on the University of Houston. Normally I use MSN 7 as my browser.. But since this started, I've been using IE 6.0.. Windows XP Home.
Specter 0
Check to see if the XP Firewall got activated somehow, and have you talked to the IT people at your campus?
