Recommended Posts

Wait until you see the new DDX's. Those are going to be some sweet ships! As far as the "deck monkey" comment it has been duly noted.

wow.

Xian...havnt spoken to you in ages. Just wanted to let you know that I have made some huge leaps forward in my "career goals"

I'm always an email away...or PM from time to time - I come out of hiding and up from the deep from time to time - I have some airdale stories to share with you my friend... ;-) (you might ask Rocky for the pic as well...since it was taken from a helicopter - not your flavor of aircraft IIRC)

I better stop flooding the "navy" boat thread...I might get kicked out of here heh heh...

Greetings!

The Army too, eh?

This is what I mean about inter-service rivalry and redundancy.

The Army was allocated and in command of troop transports and supply ships for a time in WWII, although that was the Navy's mission. This is just more of the same power- grabbing that wastes money and loses lives.

yep and im pretty sure that boat is Australian, probably Australian designed.

we use it as a travel ship, i can't remember the story but the yanks liked the ship because it is super fast so they wanted it for their navy, but i heard they have been renting them because their not allowwed to accept foreign built fessels from some bill that was passed durring ww2 or something, i'll try and find some pics of the boat in Aussie use.

The test is a result of a strategic alliance announced in Dec. 2000 by Bollinger Shipyards, Inc., Lockport, La., USA and Incat Australia Pty.

INCAT 050 was built in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia from marine grade aluminum to the requirements of Det Norske Veritas High Speed Light Craft Rules and is in compliance with the IMO High Speed Craft code.

Incat Australia Pty. Ltd., (www.incat.com.au) is the world's leading producer of high-speed passenger and vehicular ferries.

What fer? You have a tendency to like boats that they sink on purpose. Or do you just prefer sardine cans? ;)

Good to see you get some "fresh" air again Saint. Now hurry up and get your ###### home.

@Whiteknight

This is one concept even I never fully understood. Makes about as much sense as jumping out of a perfectly good aircraft.

Look at the picture again...do you see the submarine...thats why I like them...as the GR slogan reads...

You can't shoot what you can't see!

;-)

Besides...carriers have about 2 or 3 times more people than my hometown...too big for my taste.
