Tollen
I think that I acted a bit to much like mr. Scrouge from Charles Dickens "A Christmas Carrol", and I want to apologize for that. (There is spies everywhere... ) And because of Snowfellas onslaught of .chr´s that burried me alive, I´m preparing to retaliate. I´m loading an E-mail with a couple of high-calibre .zip´s with some previews my new skins that I´m sure will KNOCK HIS SOCKS OFF!!! As you perhaps have heard, we are working on version number 0.3 of just about everything, but it will surely be worth the work. Have some good and some bad news to: The bad news is that I will be unemployed after this friday :'( but the good news is that I will have some more time to work on the MOD. :punk: PS. Don´t worry about me, I´ll do just fine DS. Edited August 26, 2003 by Tollen

Tollen
Sleep increases peoples creativity. It´s a simple fact that if I sleep late in the morning (even after lunch...) then I will be able to stay up far longer in the night when every one else is sleeping and voilá. I get more work done! SnowFella
hmmmm....no wonder I have days when I just can't seem to get anything done then! Having to get up at 4:20am to be at work in time must be bad for my modding career! I usually feel like something the cat dragged in when I get home after nearly 11 hours at work & have hardly any energy left for work on the computer! Thank god the army learnt me that sleep is for the weak & more than 4 hours a night isn't needed! Got some news from Thumper earlier on today & I have to say you folks are in for a treat in the coming days. The previews of his first weapon for this mod looks absolutely stunning! Anyways...time for my well deserved sleep here...no work tomorrow so I can sleep in like Tollen and be at my modding best later on! Tollen
Since Snowfella is a few timezones away.... We enrolled Thumper to this project and very soon, there will be new SIG-pic´s out... Edited August 28, 2003 by Tollen
SnowFella
The original idea was that I would make all the models needed for this mod but after compiling a list of all needed weapons, weapons we would like like to have if time permits, new frags, claymores, democharges, vehicles, attachments and custom made .chr's for just about every character we are to have I soon relised I was in way over my head. I'm somewhat of a slow modder and that list would take me ages to do! That's when I started thinking about trying to recruit another weapons man for the team and Thumper was the first one that came to mind. I'm very happy to say he jumped at the idea instantly and are now working on weapons for our international specialists while I'm busy plugging away on new characters, something I'm fairly new at doing so I'm learning as I go along. Hopefully they will turn out ok in the end! Snow
Thumper1518
I have completed my first model for Swebat, an MP5a5 with Taclight. Here are the renders (BIG thanks to Lancer for the source pics ): I hope this is of the quality that you all have come to expect in the Mod. Streinger
This is outstanding work!!!!! Probably the best MP5 I've seen so far...including @Earl's and my work. Looks like @Earl and I got some serious competition....
SnowFella
told you you guys were in for a treat! Its got to be one of the best MP5's i've seen so far, in my opinion totally on par with Recon Snakes and Paras MP5 models! Snow
Tollen
Just for the sake of sticking to golf-terminology: Thumper, you got a hole-in-one there!
Suicide Commando
That MP5 is first rate. Great job Thumper.

San
MP5 with GL, does that exists in RL ?
SnowFella
@ San...GL?...is this something you'd like to see or are you refering to Thumpers renders? If it is the renders take a second look mate, that thing under the barrel is a photon cannon....in other words a tac light Snow
Tollen
MP5 with GL, does that exists in RL ? I have never seen one, and I don´t think that there is such a thing. The M203A1 is far to long compared to the rest of the gun, and to mount a GL, you have to mount it together with the barrel and the box (can´t find the word right now for that part of the gun...). And as SnowFella explained it to me, you can´t mount a GL directly with the RIS/RAS/KAC ´cause then the recoil will seriosuly damage those components. EricJ
Yup, which is why SOPMOD M4s with an M203 only use the upper part of the RIS/RAS system.
Thumper1518
TY for all the kind words, I put a lot of effort into that model, since it was for Swebat and they gave me a high poly limit. FYI, if any of you want to see an MP5 with a G/L, do a search for "MP5a5" in Yahoo. One site I found had pictures of the Hollywood-created MP5 with G/L that Schwartzenegger used in End Of Days. Leave it to Hollywood to create the impossible. As far as recoil is concerned, I thought that 40mm grenades did not have too much recoil. I've never fired one myself (they frown on using 40mm grenades in LE work ) but some of my friends have.

And Arnold made good use of it Let´s say that the recoil is just about enough to rip a bad mounting to pieces That´s to bad really that LE´s shun those things. As I see it it would be a perfect tool for a SWAT-teams support-personell, being able to fire CS/CR-grenades with great precision and from long distances and still be able to cover the m8´s. Thumper1518
Our SOT (SWAT) uses 37mm gas grenades, no frags.
Tollen
Didn´t say anything about frags thoug... that´s a bit of an overkill for LE...
F'n New Guy
police use alot of cs gas, its a riot gas and its the same we train for in our masks in the army. its bad but, u can get used to it (still be able to focus on a target) if xposed to it alot, but who would want to?
