XavierOnasis
Here you can find out more. Here's part of the Amazon teaser In a nondescript office building in suburban Maryland, the firm Hendley Associates does a profitable business in stocks, bonds, and international currencies, but its true mission is quite different: to identify and locate terrorist threats, and then deal with them, in whatever manner necessary. Established with the knowledge of President John Patrick Ryan, "the Campus" is always on the lookout for promising new talent, its recruiters scattered throughout the armed forces and government agencies-and three men are about to cross its radar. The first is Dominic Caruso, a rookie FBI agent, barely a year out of Quantico, whose decisive actions resolve a particularly brutal kidnap/murder case. The second is Caruso's brother, Brian, a Marine captain just back from his first combat action in Afghanistan, and already a man to watch. And the third is their cousin . . . a young man named Jack Ryan, Jr. Notes: projected release = August 11, 2003. Can't find any other mention of this on the forum. Not sure where it'd go. Aug 11?! That's like... 3 weeks!

_1G_HiLandR
Got a question all, I have read no T-Clancy books, not much of a reader, but the game has me curious, which book would you start with?

CtheHammer
I hope the book doesn't have as many typos as I just found reading the prologue. Sounds interesting. C
WhiteKnight77
I basically read all of TC's books in the order that they came out. It was mindblowing to find out something at a later date and then understand why what happened earlier did.

It was mindblowing to find out something at a later date and then understand why what happened earlier did. Yeah, I did not read them all in order, but I have read all of them through Rainbow Six. He has a way of bringing back characters . When you really think about it, aside from a few discrepancies, what Clancy has been doing is writing one REALLY long story. For those of you who haven't read the books, each one has a little of this going on (the stories are good, but they all follow the same basic pattern, or some variation on it): : (Wow, I just summed up 800 pages with only smilies) C
firefly2442
The Net Force ones are pretty cool too. Not as good as the classics though.
tyovan4
Start off with Patriot Games, see if you like the style.. It's good, and relatively short. Then I would suggest Red Rabbit and Red Storm Rising as his next two best works. Then read the series in order, and its quite good.

XavierOnasis
The Teeth of the Tiger Half a mile from the otherwise nondescript town of West Odenton, Maryland, there stands a rather drab nine-story office building. It is the home to Hendley Associates, a bond-trading and arbitrage firm that does well for itself despite the fact it has no clients or investors. Another curiosity about this particular building is that it is the only structure over two stories that sits on the line of sight between Langley and Fort Meade. It is to this building that Dominic Caruso, an FBI agent whose quick thinking solved a gruesome kidnapping/murder case, is sent. He is joined by his fraternal twin Brian, a Marine captain whose distinguished service in Afghanistan got him marked as someone to watch. It is also the building where their cousin proceeds to talk his way into a job. A young man, fresh from Georgetown University, named Jack Ryan, Jr. There is more to Hendley Associates than there seems. The true purpose of the firm is to identify and track terrorist threats, and then deal with them in whatever manner necessary. It is known as ‘The Campus.’ It is beyond ’black,’ it literally does not exist in the US Government. It is privately funded by insider market trading using information actively lifted from both the CIA and NSA. Concocted by then-president Jack Ryan, it is to deal with criminals that would be untouchable by any other means. Things are about to get unpleasant for the terrorists. Edit - hey! I should write copy for dustjackets! Tom Clancy has stated that Teeth of the Tiger is to be the last book in the Jack Ryan series. I doubt this is the case as TotT leaves entirely too many threads untied for such a detail-oriented author. Secondly, the only way the hook at the end of the book could be bigger would be to include the words ‘to be continued.’ Various brain droppings: Clancy proves the pen is mightier than the sword I’m glad this takes the series a step further. Jack Ryan was popping up in historical events with the same frequency as Forrest Gump. Minor reference to 9/11. I was anxious to see how Clancy would handle it, and am satisfied with the result. Reference on p196 to Iraqi Liberation. Damn! How quickly did he write this? A quick read. If I had to compare it to any of his other books, the closest would be Patriot Games, for size, structure, and readability. Interaction between the brothers cracked me up repeatedly. Beware -- minor Marine punking No Clark, no Chavez, no Jack Ryan. One of my favorites of his. Much better than Red Rabbit or Bear / Dragon A good read. I give it two thumbs up on the condition that Clancy continues the series.

tyovan4
I purchased a copy on Wednesday when I was down in Philadelphia with my mates.. I'm about 2/3 of the way done, and Im amazed how fast it goes and how short it is for a Clancy book. When I finish the book, I'll tell you all what I thought of it. CtheHammer
I have a gift card for Barnes and Noble, so I may have to run accross the street and pick up my own copy to read in the next two days before school starts and things get crazy!
