Acehole
Hi, i search help for have bigger fonts in menu ,info boxes in game etc...so, I use the Eisenhauer Font.res who is perfect till this day , i see recently (i don't know why now) 2 problems , the text that appear when you click to abort or end a mission is very (very) small (do you want to end ...) but the boxes in game like "mission complete" or others are very (very) big with a bigger text but not centered (justified to the left) ....I try a fresh install ,but it's the same problem ,i dont' remember that the clean original GR has these info boxes ,even with the original Font.res. I know it's purely cosmetic but...😉. Also ,i search for modifications i make to have a personal GR to understand how the differents elements of the interface work : fonts, menus ,info boxes . Certainly , posts or tuto on Ghost Recon.net but i search with zéro results ! Fine days for all.
Eisenhauer
The sizes of the infoboxes are hard-coded into the game, so there's nothing you can do about it. So far, I haven't been able to find any indication of where the values are changed.
Acehole
Thanks for answer and time ! After several "try and miss" , i think that Ike.res deal with the boxes and some fonts ...i have in fact two différents ike.res (i don't know why) et in conjonction with your font.res ,it's provide not the same effect : one give a small txt in mission status (abort, leave..) but small box with large txt in box for objective, mission etc...and options menus ok . The other one give large font in all game but large boxes also and too large txt in options and briefing. In your font.res ,i try to change the others default and large terms but the game doesn't launch ,i think you try also ? Perhaps a medium font size ? To use your font.res file ,i modify the strings .res to adjust the txt who don't fit with the tabs in options and briefing, see attached file. And the new_font_revised.rsb has a role in the size of fonts and boxes ??? For the last , i made a fresh install of GR on an other computer and i have same large boxes with the txt no centered or justified , i don't remember that in first look on GR some years ago , is it the same for you ? guy. PS i change the string file cause i see a missing term in missions menu : auto assign stat points strings.7z Edited August 16 by Acehole wrong file
Eisenhauer
The file strings_modif.res is being blocked by the forum; you'll have to compress it.

Eisenhauer
I haven't tested this with dgVoodoo 2, but here are some instructions: https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/DgVoodoo_2#HUD_and_interface_scaling_on_high_resolutions
wombat50
You may know or have considered this already. The higher the resolution the smaller and smaller the black display boxes get. I usually run 1920x1080 but in the past I have forced higher resolutions with Nvidia Control Panel, like 2560x1440 or even 4k. It does make the game look better but the black display boxes are so small the font is very hard to read. I don't remeber about the chat feed in the upper left hand corner. Command maps are affected also.

I have not think at that solution but i try it when i return soon from holidays 😉

I run also G.R in 2560 x 1440 with eisenhauer font. res and a modified strings. res (for some texts in option tabs) with good result : main menus and command map are very good and readable text in black info boxes ...but the info box itself is big and the txt smallest and not centered and justified (screen capture 2). I try a fresh install on an other computer and i see the same problem ,with the standard résolution or better ! As long i play G.R , i don't remember this effect . Have you the same on your install ? wombat50
I use the original strings.res file and the new_font_revised.rsb. The attached images are what I have always experienced using different resolutions. Three are of the Mission Status or Objectives box, always in the center of the screen. One is of a "Display Message Box All" which is always towards the top. Edited August 23 by wombat50

Thanks for the screenshots , i try the 1920 x 1080 , it's not bad but i find the reticle sight a little bit enlarged and less precise than on my screen resolution . And the "display message box all " from Igor i use in missions are always very big and with txt not centered . As i understand ,you don't use the Eisenauer Font ? I thinks that my .RES files are not good , so can you please send me the three for trial ?
wombat50
Guy, Correct, I don't use Eisenhauer's font. Attached are the three .res files from the Ghost Recon\Data\Shell folder. I thought the resolutions 2560x1440 and larger looked really good but it made the font so small I could not read it. font.res IKE.RES STRINGS.RES
Acehole
Don, Yes , the resolution 2560x1440 is the better for me and it's for that i search a way to have larger fonts ! So, thanks for the 3 files but they appeared as "Unavailable"...I had a similar problem with a file i send to Eisenhauer , he ask me to compress it , perhaps the same issue ? wombat50
I will compress them into a .zip archive and hope that works. They are original unedited files. RES-files.zip Edited September 1 by wombat50
Acehole
Same problem 🤥This is the message when i click on the file always marked "Unavailable" : This attachment is not available. It may have been removed or the person who shared it may not have permission to share it to this location. If you have always my email address , it's simpler to send me this way ? Eisenhauer
Here's a brand-new tool that was released two days ago! It's supposed to enlarge the HUD and Menus as well. Please make sure to remove the files added by DX Wrapper or DG Voodoo from the Ghost Recon directory first. https://github.com/Joshhhuaaa/EnhancedGR/releases
Acehole
Thanks a lot for the problem tracking and the link ! I would never have thought that they are still people who work to enhance GR 😀. I try this tool rapidly and return here for the result but ,before, i want to try on a fresh install of G.R...

Perhaps a little better F.O.V but for the menus and game interface , it became at 4:3 and the font is blur , the info boxes very big, and it scale hud by default (cross in options). See attached images in zip for details but, there is a ini file for ajustements ,that i ,perhaps ,cannot explore all possibilities of settings . Thanks to give us your results with you try it. Have a nice weekend. Enhanced-GR-v1.0.7z

Eisenhauer
The windows in the middle look good; only the ones at the bottom left and right are a little small. Do you use the same resolution in the game as you do on your desktop?

Yes, same resolution in game and desktop : 2560x1140 but ,the screen interface with the tool is 4/3 in place of 16/10 fullscreen . Are you going to try the tool ? Eisenhauer Posted Wednesday at 18:32 Share Posted Wednesday at 18:32 You have three options in the tool—try the third one and set it a little lower in the game. I tried it, and it works, but I can't really compare it since I only have a 1920x1080 resolution.
