Kamakazi 0
Does anyone know if there are any free antivirus programs I can get off the internet but that are reasonably affective?

Specter 0
You can also DL the free trial of Norton AV2003, and its fully functional. Give it a shot.
Kamakazi 0
Thank you to both of you I am checking them out now I have never had an AV on my current puter (had it about 1.5 years) and I have a suspicion I have downloaded something that had a virus on it cause my computer is going all to hell
Havok 30
I have never had an AV on my current puter (had it about 1.5 years) That's not good ...always practice safe computing
Specter 0
I never run an AV program at all, unless I suspect a problem. Eats up resources to leave it on all the time.
Dannik 43
Trend Micro has a free web based virus scanner that can by found here. It's helped me rescue people's computers when they had viruses that disabled the traditional tools, like Norton. Still, Stinger's recommendation of AVG is in my opinion the highest quality and most efficient of all the free antivirus apps available.

Kamakazi 0
Okay I got the GrisoftAVG that that Stinger suggested, I installed clicking all three things for it to do (dont quiete remember what they all are now) then rebooted like it said... I was alright started loading up windows and boom it started hitting me with Virus windows up the ass...I think there was like 7 then a screen popped up that was blue and it said that something had went wrong with a program and it said it started removing physical memory...it said to restart again but I couldnt do that (my comp is a dell and you cant just restart by clicking a button you HAVE to go through the start menu) so I only had one choice...I unplugged the comp and plugged it back in...clicked F8 when it restarted then turned on Safe Mode and used system restore and took my comp back a day so that the AVG isnt on my puter anymore Now what could cause this is there any way to fix it, do I need to download the app again then reinstall and see what happens? Or get a different App?
