Rebar 0
Hi all, I'm having a problem with Paint Shop Pro (version 8). It works great, until I try to save a file that's 256x128. Then it give me an error: "Texture could not be saved due to the following errors: Height not a power of 2" Well, 128 is a power of two. If I make the image 256x256, it'll save, but of course the image is too big. Anyone know how I can fix this?
Ruin 17
Not sure why it would give you that, because, obviousl 128 is a power of 2... that's very strange. Just try resizing the canvas, not the image, to 256 x 256. Also, recheck the sizes, you might have a typo and it could be 127 instead.
Lancer 1
Save your work as a 256x128 .bmp file then convert it to an .rsb using the RSBEditor found in the extras folder on the DS disc. Yep I know its a little long winded but it works. The power of 2 thing seems to be a prob found on PSP, you don't see it when using Photoshop, well least ways I haven't. Hope this helps. Ruin 17
If you're using an Alpha Channel, than the above method wont work. IF not, than I think you'll be okay.
Giampi 39
Maybe it's a stupid comment but 128 is in pixel while it refers to 2 inches. Of course 128 pixel is not a power of 2"

I can open the bmp with the editor, but I can't seem to convert it to .rsb format, or any other format. Can a kind soul give me a step-by-step?
Ruin 17
@Giwex, I believe that the plugin works in Pixels, not in Inches.
Rebar 0
Any directions how to use RSBEditor to convert the bmp to rsb?
TRC 0
I've not experienced the power of 2 problem yet, but notice many who have were using rsb plugin from ds cd. Use the plugin from the IT cd, drop it into your psp folder. Rebar, the rsbeditor allows you to view rsb files and alpha channels--it's not for conversion--that's what the plugin is for. Lancer 1
Open RSBEditor. On the left you will see the usual 'Windows' type folder tree. Find the folder your .bmp is in, you will see the thumbnails of the contests to the right. Right click on your .bmp and select convert image. Job done. Remember any alphas you had will be lost when you save as a .bmp. If you have only one layer your safe. I've had this 'power of 2' prob when using PsP, even when using the latest RSB plugins off the IT disk. Hope this helps mate.
Lancer 1
"contests" should be "contents" Doh!
TRC 0
Appreciate the lesson. Will keep it in mind if I ever have the problem in the future.
Rebar 0
Thanks, that did the trick. It still did something wierd, it made the 256x128 into a compressed 128x128, but I can deal with that. Thanks to everyone for their help.
