hero2zer0 0
This might be a drivers problem, try to update your chipset/video card drivers.
sleeper 0
Ive had GR since it came out and the major problem Ive seen with performance for this game has had to do with sound. Many people I know have had issues with the sound. You may need to change some of your sound card settings or in game sound sound settings. I would try this first before anything else. OOPS. sorry, you have XP and 128mb RAM, thats way too funny. Thats not near enough to even run XP. The other things is, whats so bad about 22 and 32 fps? Does that look choppy to you? I run mine like that all the time. Doesnt bother me any. Anyways, look into the sound issue(you may need/ want to buy a sound card if you dont have one) and above all RAM, you need more, believe me. Specter 0
First thing's first. There is a pinned topic at the top of this forum entitled 'New people, Read here.' We need this info. Without it, we dont even know what we are looking at.
meade95 0
Thanks for all of the advice...but let me clear some things up... I am running windows xp ...but I have 640 RAM....as my post says....not 128 RAM......the 128 Ram goes with my Video Card...a Ti-4200 (with 128 RAM)... I will check into the Sound settings....thanks for that advice.... Also, I have my AA set to off (because I have been playing Raven Shield)...would adjusting that to ON....do you think this would help?? My specs are well, well above for GR....I know this for certain....and I feel I should not be having an FPS issue at all......For my eyes...I think 45pfs or higher is needed for casual, stress free gaming... Thanks again for any more advice...
Specter 0
We still need to know what directx version, and which Nvidia drivers your using. Also, what kind of sound card you have, and what the sound options are set for in GR. Also, leave AA of, and turn off fastwrites. Also turn off human and vehicle shadows, and uncheck mip mapping. Adds to realism, and helps performance.
meade95 0
I am using DirectX 8.0 ( have heard X9 can still have problems).... Nvidia Drivers I am using 41.72 version. Have read the new 44.03 drivers don't do much for older cards...they are mainly for the new FX cards....Is this true?...or have people seen a increase in performace with the new drivers? I have all shadows on off....
Specter 0
I would upgrade straight away to directx9.0a, and to the Nvidia 44.03 drivers. Im using an older card than you are, and they improved my performance. DX8 wasnt written for XP, although XP wll run it. DX90 was a beta and stank. But directx9.0a is a good writing, and the Nvidia drivers are great. You will need to go to them to when you upgrade dx. Well, you should anyway. Tell me about your sound card and sound settings in GR also.
