my ? is i want to make new diffrent textures for tree.Lets say Fall colors How would i do it? when i get the texture done when i add it to a tree i need it were the black does not show up. Do i open the rsb in the rsb editor and have to do something in there so that the black does not show up? Or do i have to do something in Photoshop to make it work. if anyone know, if yea can tell me step by step or a tut on this that would be great thanks :blink:

Shiver just did an awesome tut on trees, just look a couple of posts down. You can prolly find what you need there. ;)

I think he's talking about the alpha channel. That's what makes parts of a texture transparent. If all the parts you want transparent are black in the picture, open it in Photoshop, use the magic wand tool to select the black areas, inverse the selection, go to the channels window, click save selection as channel. The new channel will be black and white, the parts you want transparent should be black. Save the image as a *.tga file. When you apply the texture it will automatically be converted to a *.rsb file when you start the game, or you can covert it with the rsbeditor. But be sure to set the properties in the rsbeditor. select alpha testing,greater than/equal to, and something like 128. Make sure it is set as gun transparent, grenade transparent, and foliage.
