Graphically, the footage provided to Insider Gaming under the condition that the footage isn’t shared or goes public shows a significant graphical improvement over its predecessors and is best compared to something akin to Ready or Not.

From being personally involved in the release of Ghost Recon games (Wildlands in particular) and having felt the level of Ubisoft security first hand, I can tell you that this description of "provided footage" is unlikely, to put it nicely.

If Ubisoft felt the need to share footage at this very early stage, they would not "provide" it. They would invite you in to their office in a controlled environment, tell you to put your phones away, shut the door and window blinds and make you sign an NDA.

Under no circumstances are Ubisoft sending out footage of unreleased games to random websites and saying "shhhh - don't share", that's just hysterical to suggest.

The article also reports that the footage demonstrates a "significant graphical improvement over its predecessors".  Wildlands and Breakpoint are absolutely stunning games graphically. Granted, things improve as the years go by, and it would be reasonable to expect some areas of eye candy would be enhanced, but "Significantly"? I think not.

And then to compare it to Ready or Not..... I've watched 4k footage of Ready or Not, and it might very well be a fantastic game, but to suggest it is presents a significant graphical improvement over Wildlands/Breakpoint is really pushing it. Some of what I've see on RoN is pretty janky compared to Wildlands.

So, word to the wise, when you see Ghost Recon "Exclusives" being circulated this early, don't get too hyped about what you read.

As a supporter of RoN from get-go, when it was initially funded through Indiegogo; I can say definitively that even the latest test build of RoN does not 'surpass' Wildlands no less Breakpoint 'significantly' or even questionably at all -- so the contradictory evidence beings here...

Modern game engines have been pretty much at parity for render capability -- while some may emphasize some aspects of render over others like LSS in the last two Ghost Recon games, and some art teams similarly may focus on specific aspects of of art and deemphasize others -- the outcome as to what's 'better' will be very subjective depending on what's important to a particular game fan.

I personally value consistent attention to detail where uniform attention is given to every art asset in the game -- where player characters and non player characters don't look like they were done by different teams with different budgets (as they too often are), textures are uniform and consistent in approach to creating, resolution and application, animations don't look like they were done by different people with different priorities, etc..

The original Ghost Recon had a lot of this going on that put it ahead of the curve in its day... I notice a lot of game Fans are similarly more attached to games, feel more immersed, if the underlying game is good -- stick with games that have this kind of art priority over and above games pushing the 'latest and greatest' render candy that is often poorly implemented.

Quite a digression, but there are a lot of examples of the latter as we've seen new features incorporated in game engines, from lens flares on everything (even where there's no lens to flare), god rays everywhere, various shadow and lighting techniques, anti-aliasing, fill_in_the_blank...

I'm sure Ghost Recon Project Over will look more than good enough to satisfy fans of the franchise and genre, the theme and background sound like something very similar to Wildlands with perhaps more in the way of thematic realism, but what of the game design?  Ubisoft's trip to the bottom of the barrel of woke, monetizing everything through wholly unoriginal RPG content grind that if pursued again will be a sore spot that will separate a lot of would be fan interest from the game when it comes to forking over money.

Hey guys!

Taking advantage of this enlightening post about Rocky, I ask: do we still have any "hot" information about the next Ghost Recon, or is everything that is known (so far) just a result of speculation? I hope Ubi listens to the community and launches a game that is a game changer!

Fraternal hug from Brazil.
