warhawk 0
I was wondering if it's possible to put the weapon files from different mods into on of the mp folders to make the weapons server sided. In other words have server sided weapons like some maps are. This way, I'm thinking anyway, if there is one person who doesn't have a particular mod that is being used then they don't have to download it right before a game. I just thought I would ask before I start screwing around with my GR files and folders and really FUBAR something. Stout Hearts Warhawk
Pave Low 16
In short Nope, you cannot make weapons Server sided. The client MUST have the: Gun file, Models, Textures, Strings, Sounds, Kits Etc... Doing what you suggest would FUBAR your GR. The only things that can be server sided are missions/GTF's (where the client has the maps).
Specter 0
You cant do it with weapons because everyone would have to have the common files. With missions, aside from total conversion maps, the common file is the map, and everyone has those. Edited June 29, 2003 by phantom110565
l-li†m/-\n 0
the only thing you can do is edit the .gun file itself. these are server sided. but make sure you do NOT change the model or sound files. change something like the ROF or stabilizing time and everyone on the server will have these same changes. warhawk 0
Well that answers that. It was worth a shot but it is nice to know these things before something gets totaly hosed. Just ask phantom sometime how I can FUBAR my GR files. Stout Hearts Warhawk
