Ruin 17
So far with my past models, I've been very lucky when it comes to texturing cylinders. But I've been working on a M4 and have come to a problem. It seems like if there's one way I want to texture it, it will only let me texture a different way. I was wondering how you guys did it. For example, the two screws on the carrying handle need to be textured, but it's only letting me texture the sides. And my barrels can only be textured on the front and back, not on the sides. I'd like to get this thing done with. Any tips?
Streinger 0
Ruin, have you tried aligning the bitmap to the x/y/z axis? After you hit unwrap bitmap, scroll all the way down and check the box nex to the right axis..try them all out untill the texture is unwrapped in the way you want it to be. As for texturing screws, detach the end faces and texture them seperately.
Ruin 17
Thanks man, I'll give it a shot. EDIT: Sweet stuff, I do UVW Mapping first, set it to X axis, then I Unwrap UVW and move it. Neato.
