Yes! I love it when you're cooking up stuff. :)

Well, for a standalone mod, I'd start with a makeover of all original weapons from GR, DS, and IT, something along the lines of what Earl started with Standard Upgrade. While there are now more detailed replacements available for many of the originals, especially some of the OPFOR weapons are still in dire need of better visuals.

With the exception of Earl's work in Spetsgruppa Vympel and Udmurtia Spetsnaz, I feel Russian weapons in general are by far too underrepresented in GR mods, and I'd have a wish list a mile long for that one alone (here's an old example of some candidates).

Spetznaz? I did a quick google search. Even current photos of units in syria seem to be rocking eotechs these days. Multicam too!

I used the sound.xml to play SD half as loud. Ive only seen the thing in afghan. I was basing sounds off of a video.

Some Legionair guy in a video said its loud as hell while training with marines so I'll take his word for it. 

Both sounds were replicated based off youtube videos. The actual sound is made from GR.

Hey zee. If you can model in whatever app that is (oxygen or something?) We could knock out some weapons superfast together for Apex. 

I try to keep all gr weapons below 1000polygons (with all the accessories) the base weapon models usually come in between 500-800polys.

 

Gr isnt real picky. Ive seen 3000 and 7000 work fine. The newer graphics cards and memory dont seem to be phased to much.

Alex models in 3DS Max 2016 for Red Hammer Studios (ArmA 3) and Blackfoot Studios (Ground Branch).

IIRC, DirectX8/9 limits total addressable vertices in a scene to 65k, but the GR engine may start to stutter a lot earlier.

Not sure about that one. I remember A few dX9 games running around 400,000polys. GR had issues with AI causing memory to spike to uncontrolable levels. 

 

Issue was created if there were to many concealment points (grass) 

 

I think the design document mentions something about to many textures being loaded will make the game freeze/crash as well.
