Is there a way of overriding swatch assignments?

My qpologies if this has been asked before.

you know how GRAW2 rather than have a set texture map for the characters with one camo like GRAW 1 did, GRAW 2 uses a selection system in which swatches of seamless camo are applied to a selection map.

is there a way of changing this selection map back to a diffuse and stop the swatches being applied?

i'm sorry if this made no sense to you.
