Farewell!

Recommended Posts

After losing most of our members, we decided to shut down the Tactical Operations Squad. I've become interested in ArmA II and I'll have my copy tomorrow. I'm hoping to start a clan for the game after I get some experience. I'll be going by my real name, GReeves, over at the Bohemia Interactive forums.

Thanks for all the support towards my team, mods, and activity around here. Maybe I'll release the TacOpSquad Mod as a reminder of who we were, what we did, and where we went.

Captain 9ECHO a.k.a RileyFletcher_01, out.

:rambo:

can nOOBs join you in ArMa2?

Yeah, but cat pictures aren't allowed on our server :P

Needs moar ARMA III.

From what I've read, ArmA 3 is being designed to cater team vs team players. That's why I bought ArmA II instead of waiting for III.

when I've got this new PC up and running I'll join you in a few games mr Greeves. if you ever need a Pilot, holler! :D

Ugh, every day since I signed up here I regretted using my Rainbow Six profile name "Riley Fletcher".....I would have changed it but everyone already knew me as Riley  Can't wait to see you in the field.

Piloting aircraft in game is fun.... until those enemy LMAOSHILKA's shoot down your ROFLCOPTER with spray and pray from halfway across the map.

riley, apparently ARMA III beta starts June 25th. they are adding more stuff of course and they are also increasing the price by 10 euros for duration of the beta, then to full for final version. (purchases during alpha get beta and final versions)

So heads up!

Arma 2 and Arma 3 are very similar when it comes to scripting missions. The mission editors are similar but there are improvements and new scripting commands in 3. If you're familiar with scripting in Arma 2, going to 3 will not be a big learning curve. There are many tutorials for 2 and 3 on YouTube

and the below link is a good resource too.

Loving the game so far. Started out falling the training course, crashing a few billion dollar helicopters, and getting wiped out in my own little mission..... all in a day's work.

Alex, after I start my team you should probably sign on as a pilot pretty quickly, cause the captain loves flying even though I'm pathetic at it lol. You should have seen me grin when I figured out how to start the engines.

Riley, I think you should check out ArmA III. It's head-and-shoulders above ArmA 2, and in my opinion, MP is just as much fun, if not more so. Good to have you in the Armaverse! :)

Mr Murray's Arma Editing guide in pdf. Written for Arma but most of the commands and scripts work in Arma 2.

Always a good starting place. In the neighborhood of 200 pages.

http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=4847

SwissMAVERICKS's YouTube Arma 2 tutorials

Jester814's YouTube Arma 3 tutorials. No guarantees that these will apply completely to Arma 2.

There are allot fewer character models in Arma 3 but many options to outfit them.

Dslyecxi's YouTube channel. Not too many tutorials on the editor but allot of good content.

I have a friend Tvig who has built a mission called Urban Conquest. Definitely check it out. It is kinda like BF2 style play but very fun. Also I don't know if you have played Lightspeeds Ghost Recon for ArmA 2 but it's a beast and as a die hard GR player I would say it's mandatory as well. Also today I got an email and Goood Old Games (GOG.com) is having ArmA series on sale. Everything for 13 bucks!!! I think ArmA 2 Combined Operation is like 8 dollars by itself. So I would definitely drop 13 bucks to get ArmA 2,ArmA Gold and ArmA Cold War Assault

**NOTE*** crap only 1 hr left on that sale HURRY!!!!!
