MrC 0
I noticed in a post in the General Discussion Forum that Roger Wilco has a spyware program in it called Gator. If this is true will uninstalling Roger Wilco get rid of it from my system? if not how can i get rid of it? Cheers.
magnumkp 0
I doubt that uninstalling Roger Wilco will get rid of the spyware (if there is some in roger wilco, and if there is shame on them). Try lavasofts ad aware which will search your hard drives for these little beauties and then gives you the offer of removing them. Bloody gator.
MrC 0
Well i scanned my PC with Ad-aware and all i got was loads of Webhancer and Net ratings reg entries and files and folders. As i didn't know if it was safe to delete them i've just left them. According to ad-aware these are part of internet explorer anyway. But as i'm a I don't know if its ok or not. I couldn't find anything called gator, i think ill just go and shoot something in GR instead. All this thinking is hurting my ...thing..you know..whats in your head..its grey, jelly like....you know....erm....begins with b......it will come to me later.

NightCrawler 137
The last time I checked which has been awhile now RW did come prepackage with a program that they say is useful called Gator, puts a little gator down in the bottom right of the task bar. They may have taken it out with the newer ver. I don't know ticked me off so bad the first time I'll never dl their product again since there are better voice programs out there. WhiteKnight77 1
Just do a search for Gator on your PC. I have in the past have had RW installed and it did install Gator. Another Spyware detector program is Spybot Search and Destroy. Works good if not better than Ad=Aware.
HardRock 0
Try using PestPatrol control... It will find everthing!!!
Ghost_in_the_shadows 0
where can i get these?
ZJJ 74
where can i get these? Try doing a google search. I was able to find and download ad-aware and spybot after I did a search. Never tried PestControl, but I'm sure it could be found. If you are having troubles with the search, let me know and I will see what I can do to help out.
Specter 0
Deleting RW wont do it. What you need to do is search your drives and your registry for anything that says Gator, Gain, or Banzai it. Those are the 3 nasty buggers. In the Registry, you want to look under HKEY LOCAL MACHINE\SOFTWARE, AND RIGHT CLICK THE ONES YOU WANT TO REMOVE, AND DELETE THEM. BEFORE DOING THIS, WITH REGEDIT OPEN, CLICK ON FILE IN THE UPPER LEFT CORNER, AND EXPORT. THEN EXPORT A COPY OF YOUR REGISTRY TO A SAFE PLACE, IN CASE OF A MISTAKE. DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP. That should clear it out. You can also get Ad Aware from www.cnet.com/downloads. Edited June 20, 2003 by phantom110565
