Anyone watching the Playstation Event?

So I had the stream up, was impressed Sony managed to keep things online with the massive demand, shut down another tab and boom, flash crashed, stream stopped.

Tried to reload, BANG the world and it's brother jsnagged my connection and now I can't see anything.

So far PS4 has some really amazing features that are truly impressive, that I'll never use.

For example, stuck in your game? Let your friend, who has been watching your progress in his house via live game treaming, take control for you and get you passed the bit you are stuck on. Neato. Never gonna use it.

...

The reason I might buy a PS4 at launch.

DRIVECLUB.

I only just got the stream working again, so either they showed it at the start and I missed it, or they are saving the hardware and launch price and date to the end. I think they are saving it to the end, soon.

Ubisoft were just on showing off Watchdogs, what looked like the most complete title for the PS4 so far.

Bungie on now showing off Destiny, awesome looking FPS.

Finished, no price.

Coming "holiday 2013", what does that mean?

To estimate it's price, I look at the current PS3, and the PS Vita. They are both priced at around £230.

I'd expect the PS4 to be at least double the price of a hand held system, so that's £460 for a starting point.

For the hardware and ecosystem though, I;d say that sounds a little low, so I'll put my money on a £630 price point, with one new controller.

I'm really impressed with the PS4 hardware so far. In the US the rumored price points are $429 & $529 for two different models at launch (compared to $499/599 when the PS3 launched). They may be waiting to see where Microsoft prices their system before they announce though. To Sony's advantage, the Yen has been getting hammered over the last six months or so (20% drop vs $). That means that they'll make out better when they convert those currencies back to Yen and can afford to price them a little lower than they would have to otherwise.

I'm hoping it will be less than £250, but that hope could be in vain, the prices of consoles have steadily gone up, the PS2 was £200 when that came out. you would have thought if new technology is becoming cheaper, that the cost of production of a console would be less?

I'm kind of Hoping Xbox Durango will be affordable if the PS4 isn't. anyhow. but to be honest, from what I saw last night, if Microsoft can't top that, then I'll do anything for the PS4.

With the Wii 2 out and PS4 in development, it won't be long before we see an announcement from Microsoft about the new generation Xbox.

As indicated on CVG, an unnamed Sony official has claimed the company’s PS4 reveal “at first caught Microsoft off-guard.”

As a response, Microsoft is likely run a special Xbox 720 meeting later in the year. While the company has declined an official comment, VG247 would like to confirm it has also received word of the April event.
