Doc. Caliban
Hello, I am trying to set up a simple scenario that I want to use in a mission: If actor x fires his weapon, actor y switches from walking a path to going into combat mode and taking cover to defend the area. This is what I have: Group: <Default> Comment: Defense Mode Trigger Event: Actor 100 discharged a weapon. Responses: Assign DefenseMode to Team1 and execute. What should the trigger plan be? I've locked alertness to combat, and tried different ROEs, but nothing actually happens at all ... he just keeps walking his path. (the actors are in different teams) Thanks! -Doc Edited January 29, 2013 by Doc. Caliban
Tinker
Responses: Cancel any plan for Team1 Assign DefenseMode to Team1 and execute. You have to cancel the teams plan before giving them a new plan.
Doc. Caliban
Hmmm. I guess I need a good trigger plan too .... Setting alertness, combat ROE, and movement ROE still didn't change anything. Either that, or the script still isn't canceling the original team plan. Am I missing something in the trigger plan itself? -Doc
Tinker
You spawn on the road with 1 allie in the water on look out. 3 man team are behind you chilling. After 10 seconds the warlord spawns, lookout will shoot him, backup team will run in and investigate the area as soon as he fires. Working coipy of mission file attached. actor_fired.zip
Doc. Caliban
Excellent; I will try this out tonight. I learn best by example ... thanks! -Doc EDIT: I will practice on another mission now that I've looked at this. One thing I'd like to do with this is counter the predictable (in most missions) lack of reaction of other actors when a nearby actor is killed or fires his weapon. I remember the first time I sniped someone in Far Cry 2 and all of the other actors that had been around vanished into cover and refused to come out. 'Holy crap; that's how it should happen!"
