Scorch3013
How do I add my own sound effects into my mission in igor? I have taken a couple of sounds from Call of Duty 4 and rendered them as .wav files but I do not see them under the Sounds tab where it shows all of them. I could be putting them in the wrong place maybe. Thanks, Scorch. p.s. I talked to a couple of you several months ago when I registered on GR.net then dissappeared off the face of the earth for a while. Sorry about that, I'm back
RileyFletcher_01
Welcome back, Scorch. You're from Texas, that earns you extra points with me. First off, I'm sure you know this but please don't use other game sound effects. It's for your own good and safety. Of course for private use this is 100% okay. Make sure you've converted the sounds correctly. You can see the bitrate of a GR sound in the sounds folder, sound effects (ambient/guns) are 22050hz, Mono, 352kbps, while music is Stereo and 705kbps. Then, put them in the proper sound folder in your mod (see Origmiss folder for details if necessary). Finally, go into IGOR editor (C/Program Files/Red Storm Entertainment/Ghost Recon) and make sure your mod is activated and set to default mod (File...Mods...Check your mod on and check the 'default' box at bottom right). Then go to Tools...Sound Volume Editor and Select Sound Folder. Navigate to the folder in your mod containing the files and hit OK. For ambient sounds (ones that can be placed on a map) check the Ambient box while selecting the sound. Hit Reconcile and Apply when finished and exit IGOR. Start it up again and your new sounds will be in the list. If you have any problems post back, this was off the top of my head so I may have made a mistake
wombat50
Just make any soundfile in any sound editor (SoundForge, Audacity etc..) Save it as a mono, 16bit, 22,050 Hz (22KHz) file and place it in the soundfolder of the mod you are working with. Open IGOR and open the sound volume editor. Select the soundfolder where your new file is and you will see all the sounds in that folder. Green ones are ok already; yellow and red ones needs to be reconiled. That is a button in the window you should be looking at. So reconile, apply and exit that window. The changes should already have been done and are already saved in an soundfoldername.XML file in sound folder of the MOD itself. All you will have to do to call your new sound is to use the playsound or the playsound3D option in IGOR. Not sure of the naming format to make them appear in the list of sounds in Igor.
