Remake GR on a new engine?

What would prevent people to redo small parts of models and sell it further? I'm all in with sharing good quality models with closed group of people working on a same project but with whole WWW? A bit sceptic...

Good idea though. I'll play along if this moves forward :)

Whats wrong with UDK in general?

Not with the whole web, just with known modders and teams.

It works everyday with things like Flightgear, Free Falcon, Team Fortress 2, and countless others

There isn't anything wrong with it but if we want really large and lush terrains. CE3 will be the way to go without a doubt. By the way google sketchup works with it too.

If we do manage to get donations (money to acquire stuff) or codes from people. I would really love to have this!

I always thought about a conflict around Brazil. Yep, I'm brazilian, but really, think ahead in the future: the Guianas and Paraguay are flooding with brazilians. It's not too hard to think that, once a brazlian minority amounts great capital in such countries a conflict can erupt. With could just grow with the impassionate South American governments and accusations of China/Russia/USA involvement.

What was predicted to be just some border skirmishes grows to full war.

I always liked this background, and it really moves itself away from the cliche USA vs Russia post-Cold War conflict.

Brazil wouldn't be bad at all. Very diverse from the poverty striken areas, dense forrest, jungle, mountains etc...

Could be a UN peace keeping campaign similar to GRs original storyline.

The engine would handle the terrains fantastically too.

What should we name this thing?

Well, if not the level designer position is taken, I would be glad to take it - if it's on CryEngine 3. Me and my team are developing this game and we're using CE3.

Brazil wouldn't also not be bad at tall, but I suggest that we're saying a army of guerillas/rebellion is uprising in Brazil because of a dictator having too much power in Brazil?

Nothing awkward yet. Working on this website and hoping to get a domain in the next few months. If I don't create the next ACE, project reality or obsidian edge hopefully this website enables others to do it. ;) It has a bit of work still to be done.

modder group together first, we will be set for success after.

Ahh yeh ok. I guess that if you wan't me to create any CE 3 levels I can do it, but I might get busy in Febuar, as my programmer will finish some level that will reduce lag and make it gigantic, as there's lag and glitch if you use levels over 4096 x 4096. If you need any CE 3 help/guide or level making, just contact me.
