I've never known it to do this before after an update on my laptop all was perfect does it need the AMD radeon driver active do you think? Zeealex
i might actually see if this is a problem solved by a restart of the system, if not is the next best bet the graphic driver?
ApexMods
Yep, looks like there's no Direct3D support. Driver re-install should remedy this.

Rocky
So, did you ever have GR running succesfully on that setup? Or is this a new setup that you just cant get GR running on?
Zeealex
Hey Rocky worked PERFECT before the Distro update, it was a bit clunky at times but i know that's just wine being a prune. it was my main GR machine, knowing me it's probably something obvious staring me in the face If i have to i'll dig the windows 7 disks out and install windows 7 to test GR, not using XP ever again! Zeealex
after recently realising that i NEED ghost recon to work so i can alpha test you obviously know that i install windows 7 onto the machine. when i did a DXDiag, i remembered, i was running DirectX 9.0c in ubuntu under wine, i know it was causing some issues in 11.04 with other games i like to play. so i deleted removed it from the configuration and removed it from wine's virtual drive. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand: For once windows can be thanked for something... HOWEVER (big however here) whenever i load the game the back of my PC starts to hiss (yes, hiss) and it runs a little sluggish. This is the Ike.log now **** User's system configuration ***** CPU: AuthenticAMD 3113 MHz Recent AMD RAM: 2048 MB O/S: Microsoft Windows 2000 5.1 Service Pack 3 build 2600 Ghost Recon (RELEASE) version = 1.4.0.0(0) HAL (hw vp): ATI Radeon HD 4350 X8R8G8B8 RSFILEDATA: FindFile could not find file ike_fx_fire_type2.tga RSFILEDATA: FindFile could not find file ike_fx_fire_type2.rsb Unable to find ike_fx_fire_type2.tga anywhere. RSGameStateMgr::ProcessMessage() duplicate state change request all the files it's missing are there I'll still use windows for testing as obviously it gives a more accurate idea of the way PCs will handle the new textures (ubuntu uses a third of the memory windows does) Edited July 9, 2012 by Zeealex
