The reticule for my grenade launcher has graduated range markings on the vertical so that if you know the range, you use the coresponding aiming point and the grenade will impact exactly where you want it. The reticule was developed on a screen resoution of 1920x1200, and it uses a 1.5x zoom. When you are zoomed in, the markings are accurate. I am now using it on a screen resolution of 1920x1080 and it is still very nearly perfectly accurate ... the difference in point of impact due to the vertical resolution change is nil. The problem that I am running into is that a friend of mine who is using a CRT to game is playing at a resolution of 1600x1200 and the point of impact for the grenades are WAY off ... by about 25m. It's the exact same GL (same .gun file referencing the same .prj file) etc, etc ... so the weapon is absoutely identical to the one that I am using. He has tried vertical resolutions of both 1200 and 1024, and they are both way, way off. "Scale HUD" is disabled for both of us as well, so there should be no issue there. Any ideas as to why this is happening? The only real difference is his 4:3 aspect ratio .., could that be causing this? If so, how exactly? Once I redid the sniper mask and it was a perfect circle in my native resolution of 1650 x 1080. I wanted to see the effect it had when I changed the ingame resolution to 640 x 480 and it was not even close to a perfect circle. I presume your friend doesn't have the option to set his ingame resolution any higher then 1600 x 1200? Edit: Thought about this. Your friend may have some resolution choice available that is exact or close to the aspect ratio of 1920x1200. Take your resolution, divide the width by the height = 1.6 Have your friend do the same for his available choices til he finds one that is close to that ratio. I'll let you know what happens. I had wondered about the reticule being "squashed" horizontally since I'd made it on a 16:10 monitor and he's using it on a 4:3. If that's the case, it would be elongated vertically which would mess everything up. The ranges are consistently off by 25m, which IMO supports this theory. I'll send him a screenshot of my reticule on my system and he can compare it to see if the geometry looks different. (There is no circle around it to check for shape.) Thanks again! -Doc.
