However it is getting really annoying but there is nothing we can do about it unless we said No Explosives at all times, if the majority wants to allow GLs and MM1s then I think it is fair that we let them. For whatever reason, we used to disable the MM1 occasionally while running ReconLog_V3.16.1.0. As some know, go into ReconLog and select: "Taiwanese Weapons" Support. This gives admin the ability to make the MM1 blow up in the face of the player using it. And can also set Support weapons to fire single shot only. Guys, please understand that the server is meant for all GR fans, not just the ones interested in TvT. We try to cater to all of you, so some civility and compromise is required from everyone. If that is too much to ask, server setup will be closed again, and if adversial play continues to bring out the worst in people, we go back to co-op only - it's that simple. As Rocky has stated, we are open for admin applications so hopefully we can find someone willing and able to keep the troublemakers at bay. I believe with a few admins armed with reconlog and some sort of Radmin access to monitor the game server, they can make your game server a success and a fun place for team play. MMI and support weapons have always been an issue for game play in a busy server,as the constant usage of these weapons will create lag for most players, especially those farthest from the server. That is why Ritey designed reconlog to have the option of the self destruct for the MMI and single shot for support. As for OICW spam...editing the server into "primary weapons only" takes care of that problem. Both the AEG and DK-F had busy servers, and played "primary weapons only" most of the time. With a little effort by the admins and the cooperation of players, this game server can be a huge success! There will always be trouble makers in any server, but with warnings from the admins, and both temporary and permanent bans, they will not last long. sneekypete Posted July 22, 2012 Share Posted July 22, 2012 I agree with Flyguy, with server admins put in place, and a few well placed kicks and if necessary, bans, people will become more civil and considerate. Its the initial influx of the admins and setting the tone for the server that will calm things down. Once that is accomplished gameplay will be more enjoyable for Most, as we all know we can't please everyone all the time. As far as MM1 goes, I have a quad core and have no problems with it, however, as Flyguy stated, you have several people trying to use the MM1 in the server and those farthest from it start lagging. Saker Posted July 22, 2012 Share Posted July 22, 2012 I agree with both Fly & Sneeky, when I ran the FNG Server, it had to be monitored and action taken when things got out of hand. It is the nature of the beast . Being it is a public server (so to speak), you will have peeps coming in trying the server rules until word gets around things will not be tolerated. As long as civility rules, and the bad eggs are delt with, the server issues will get better for all players to have an enjoyable gameplay. After all, isn't that why we play? Good admins = good gameplay. I know many out here played in my server and, I think I ran it fairly, albeit sometimes firmly. Just my opinion on the issue. Let's have some great games on the server! I was just on the server and the Auto Start timer was driving me nuts . Didn't know the password was changed. I just checked the OP and went in and disabled it. Not everyone will know the password, so that may frustrate a lot of folks. And as always, there will always be idiots, stubborn ones, cocky ones, etc. When I'm on I am usually content with 1 person entering the server setup to choose maps etc. Less confusion that way. That is true, now that you mentioned it. Maybe lengthen the time a little? Either way it's not that big of a deal to me. EDIT: BTW I was more referring to when I'm there alone. I don't have a Server Admin Resume' documument available..... Maybe someone can tell me how many years I ran my server for FNG-CLAN! EDIT: I just looked in my ReconLog "log" Files and what I see is 1-1-06 thru 3-11-11. I think it was sometime after that that UBI shut down their Dedicated Lobby and my ReconLog wouldn't work because I didn't run my server in "dedicated" mode.
