wombat50
Looks much better Alex. Probably even better ingame. To me, GR maps seem a tad dark. Experienced this working on most RSE maps. On DP05 I lightened the ground dm a bit and made it better. I think RSE may have made the maps a tad dark to help hide the low poly geometry. Some work done on DP05 Usually I make a levels adjustment on screenies but this is untouched other then cropping. The three cliff textures whooped me out on Ravine. Every attempt to change them was not as pleasing as the originals so I left them be.

Cpl Ledanek
mother of god??? its a twisted compliment. when you guys get done, can you guys bundle them in one zip/rar? I'm going to "torture" my current graphics card
Zeealex
hey cpl! thanks they are all being bundled into one zip file anyway (i hope) PLUS there is another HUGE mod in the works that will include this one that will push ghost recon's engine to a sweat you can get some info on it, and keep posted with progress here @thales thanks! @ 0-0 i will need woodland variations and winter if you have them thanks! @wombat i think you are right about the map darkness that's why i though smoothing the shadowing would be a good idea because it will make the geometry just a little less noticeable. if you want i'll take a look at those cliff textures looks brilliant though! Cpl Ledanek
I don't know the technical part, but, if you need someone to run around and checking out the textures and do some F4, I'd be glad to help. Like, give me specific part of map to checkout or assignments My net book ASUS 1000HE has no DVD drive, is there a legal way to install there? Just in case I can take it to the food court Edited July 11, 2012 by Cpl Ledanek
wombat50
Spent allot of time and tried many textures for the cliffs on DP05 but never could out do the originals. I had a little success at one point but honestly it was not as good. If it doesn't please my eye I'm not going to change it for the sake of changing it. I may try again at some point. i though smoothing the shadowing would be a good idea because it will make the geometry just a little less noticeable. Is this done with a little Gaussian blur to the ground dm or another method to other textures? Edited July 11, 2012 by wombat50

Just in case I can take it to the food court okie dokie, when i put up BETA 4 i'll give you a few things to screenshot uuuhm that's a tough one to get around, can you not use an external dvd drive? @wombat50, it sounds like one of those awkward ones then. i was going to use the manual blur tool i don't want to ###### up the trees if you get me. Zeealex
looking good! are you not desaturating the detail textures? are you just doing the desert siege ones or are we going to make a joint effort on the Cuba ones too?
wombat50
For Creekbed I de-saturated the ground dm because of what I was doing with the detail texture. Started with a base detail texture then added a layer of dead leaves. I blended those in using the sliders found in the layer style window. Doing the DS ones for now. If my enthusiasm holds out I might help out on the IT maps.
Zeealex
coolio thanks for the info, i hope you don't mind but i've taken that as inspiration for M02 so the leaves have new colours
