Good Ol' Fountain Pens

I know this a very weird place to find a topic about fountain pens, but other than my obsession with Ghost Recon, I am also obsessed with fountain pens. I am not sure how many people still use them in this day in age, but I find them to create an amazing writing experience that cannot be found in the common ballpoint or rollerball pen. The fountain pen adapts to one's own writing style, it flows smoothly with your thoughts, and is pretty much an extension of yourself. That single fountain pen that you decided to adopt is going to be by your side to record your experiences and memories. The fountain pen shows more personality of the writing over the traditional ballpoint and even typed font on the computer.

I am just wondering if anyone here still uses a fountain pen? I sort of expect myself to be the only one here lol. In any case, if you haven't tried writing extensively with a fountain pen, I suggest you try to. For me it is a life changing experience, I know sounds sorta crazy!

I don't think it is at all strange to find fountain pen users here. If you love the unique gaming experience of classic Ghost Recon it stands to reason you will enjoy the writing experience of a good fountain pen. The comparison of a run-of-the-mill ball pen to a well made fountain pen has something in common with comparing average shooters with Ghost Recon. There IS no comparison.

Here's the one I've been using for as long as I can remember:

I use disposable fountain pens, which I believe are cheating. Of course there's no way I could refill/recharge a regular fountain pen, and as a lefty, I'm going to smudge ink no matter what I use, so disposable.

Inexpensive, but hard to find.

That is a beautiful Montblanc!. As for me I write with my Lamy Studio, and Al-star... I do have a few others but they aren't that notable. I like your comparison of classic Ghost Recon and a good fountain pen, a perfect comparison :) It is too bad that these two things are slowly fading away.

It's a typo. It's supposed to be AI, as in Artificial Intelligence. You see, the person you know as Rocky is actually software - a secret project for advanced enemy AI in Ghost Recon. But psssst... don't tell anyone!

Al?

LOL someone has changed my post, in order to prevent confusion. Some of us have known each other long enough to be on a first-name basis.

Which is normally caught by our filters and changed to our forum name. ;)

Interesting! I did not know that. I'll be mindful of that in the future! :)

Neat video Rocky. Someone left a comment that the vid bored them but I was rather impressed.

The man or woman knew how to use it. Hate to face them in a sword fight. ;)

Which got me to thinking about all the pencils I used in my line of work.

Depending on the line of carpentry I was doing at the time you could get decent pencils from salesmen either flat carpenter pencils or round for finish or cabinetry work for free. But they were never more then decent and sometimes crap.

If I was in need and feeling like I should spoil myself I'd buy a pack of these Red and Black carpenter pencils.

For finish or carpentry most retail stores sell junk. The best round pencil I ever used was a Venus Velvet.

Crazy that I should remember that one as I only had access to a single and was sad the day it got too short to use.

A touch of porn in that name too.;)

I just came across this on a video channel.

So, here's some porn for ya.

Watch Custom Namiki Falcon Resin Fountain Pen HD on Frequency.

Check out this video on YouTube:

Damn, that pen seems to have some flex to it. It is very difficult to find a fountain pen now a days with a flex nib, especially on that is not too expensive.
