Zeealex
Hey guys I got my new boots today, Magnum Elite Spider 8.0, as per preference. Pic: sorry it's just the one at the moment RAW therapee's gone loopee What i will say is, GOOD LORD! they are the most comfortable, most supportive boots i have EVER worn in my life, and they are worth the £60 odd i payed for them They are a little big on me, i got a size 6.5 rather than a 6, my Doc martens were a size six and they were crushing my feet, but they aren't HUGE, just allows for thick socks in the winter. they feel EXTREMELY tough, but nice and gentle on my feet i walked across a mopped floor with them on, with my classics i would slip slightly, with these i barely felt the difference between the mopped floor and a dry floor! pretty flipping awesome! If you observe closely at the photo, you will see creases in the sole, i can assure you that isn't bad manufacturing, it's their design they are flexible bouncy shiz. Worth the wait, and i advise anyone looking for new boots to buy a pair you won't regret it! Mum's Jealous

Sweet? thanks but, what Riley said, more of a highly opinionated type on a more serious point, something i grew up with really that and i need, durable and grippy boots to fit my lifestyle, i don't think it's advisable to climb rocks and walk long distance in these somehow: Edited May 3, 2012 by Zeealex

Spik@
Zeek, Yes, they 'look' nice, although I must say I would go for the desert/sand colour. Not that I climb anything else than the occasional stairs and with rainy days I move as quickly as I can from the door to the car and vice versa! , but they LOOK cool! And feisty? Pffff! You doing all those things in them high heels....now THAT'S feisty!! Edited May 3, 2012 by Spik@
Zeealex
now that definitely IS feisty. yeah, the Desert version is good looking, i needed a black pair though, still in school so i had to go for leather, which is slightly more waterproof than the desert version. The Elite spiders are built on a running shoe platform, they can be used day to day.

Zeealex
Noice they look very much like the Magnum Stealth variant. are they comfy? Edited May 3, 2012 by Zeealex
RileyFletcher_01
Yeah, they fit well, I actually got a size bigger (12) than I needed so they are lose and comfortable, and I can easily use the zipper to get them on without tying the laces every time. Saves time and effort . Mine are actually shorter than those shown in that picture, I have low-top ones. Those seem to go up to the shin, whereas mine only go above my ankle. RileyFletcher_01
I find it interesting that two or three of us can make a 20-post hot topic out of a post on boots within 10 minutes.
Zeealex
yeah it is kinda funny. well, it's about boots so it's on topic!
RileyFletcher_01
I'm going to do some more work for the Arms page tonight, maybe I'll get it done. Can't have a GR.net thread without some off-topic stuff. It's a tradition.

Zeealex
One of my friends decided to be an idiot and stand on my toe, causing the toecap to cave in, i've managed to pop the toecap up again, but the Right boot looks weird and deformed now anyone know how to restore it's shape? Spik@
Zee, I guess it is the leather that has 'caved in'? The cap is the innerpart of the shoe? Why not post a pic to show what exactly is the problem?
Oelmuvun
Zeealex, That is one reason I go with steel toe footwear. You can take care of your boots all you want, but that does not mean other people are going to notice/care/respect.
RileyFletcher_01
If it'd been me that guy would have ran into my fist. I agree with Oelmuvun, steel-toad is better. A picture would help too. EDIT lol just noticed I said steel-toad. That would be one interesting boot. Edited May 8, 2012 by RileyFletcher_01
Zeealex
Zee, I guess it is the leather that has 'caved in'? The cap is the innerpart of the shoe? Why not post a pic to show what exactly is the problem? The outer part of the shoe and the hardened [insert technical jargon here] cap collapsed at least i think so, i felt it if thats any constellation. i can't really get a photo atm, my camera's gone off for a repair to it's flash system and sensor(everything is breaking atm XD), but to describe as best i can: rather than being a smooth curved contour in the toe area like this: it's more rectangular, it dips deeper at the laces and appears flattened compared to the left, with small dints on the front that wont piddle off, it looks more creased too. generally, it just looks odd compared to the left one. sorry i can't be of more help I'll see if i can find that old Kodak and it's batteries tonight. Zeealex, That is one reason I go with steel toe footwear. I would have gone for steel toe boots if it was something more general like walking about, but due to their weight and lack of maneuverability they are no good for what i need them for, however I'm looking into getting a pair of magnum Response ST boots, seeing if they are any good. they aren't as pretty, but beauty isn't everything If it'd been me that guy would have ran into my fist It's kind of different in this situation though, we're quite close if you get me, and I don't think either of us would have appreciated my fist in his face. he apologized anyway, I just told him to watch out next time, I would like them to last for more than two minutes. lol just noticed I said steel-toad. That would be one interesting boot. it would be indeed On the plus side to this, they've been worn pretty much for 12 hours a day since Thursday, and they still smell like they just came out of the box! it is a gorgeous smell too! Anyway, better lace them up and put them in their box for the night, not going to help much if i keep mucking around with them.
