101459
Eeee--yup... And 'Hard Core' on anything Nintendo means; '...pretend characters might have been hurt, in a totally pretend way, fluff whips were involved...'... Rocky
Well, they certainly set themselves up by deliberate use of that word, I'm really interested to see what they come up with. Have you seen the Wii U clip where they use the controller as a sniper sight?
Ruin
It better be more precise than the Move for PS3 or it won't be worth it. I tried used Move for SOCOM 4 to snipe... no way, not happening. It's too fluid, too sluggish. Not enough precision, not enough snappiness to make a strong solid hit. They need to find a way to tune that to make it worth it. Oh... and.... "For Wii-U only." :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: Doesn't matter, I just don't equate Wii with "hardcore." I don't have high hopes for this. But hope that I'm wrong and it inspires something better for PC/360/PS3

I find that statment more interesting as they have previously stated GR online was for PC only ?
Ruin
That comma after "Ghost Recon Online" separates thoughts, indicating that only what comes after it and before the next comma, or period, is its own thought.
Hammer
Im no English scollar it reads to me like there anouncing 3 titles in development for WII U plus 2 titles excluivley for WII U ?
Ruin
Actually Hammer, you got me. I was so focused on the end of that statement I missed the beginning. Huh... now I'm with you...
Rocky
I think you are reading it right Ruin. OR Was it previously just for PC because previously there was no Wii U !
ApexMods
This looks bad. Announcing GRO as PC-exclusive to change the story just days later? Not good at all.
Ruin
Granted Ubi is known for broken English, but, this is what now as me scratching my head: Ubisoft announced some of the titles that it has in development for Nintendo’s Wii U™: Assassin’s Creed, Rabbids and Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Online, as well as two new brands including a revolutionary first person shooter for the hardcore audience being developed exclusively for Nintendo Wii U and a multi-sports game for the whole family. This makes it seem like everything forward of that initial statement will be on the Wii-U, and that the last sentence beginning with "as well as two new brands" are ones that are exclusive to Wii U. Was that a Ubi press release or did someone else write that up? If it was someone else, then just poor grammar and formatting are causing some serious confusion. Pave Low
OK this getting way too confused - to clarify Ubisoft are bringing three established IP's to the Wii U *Assassin's Creed *Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Online *Rabbids and are developing two completely new IP's for the Wii U * a "revolutionary" first-person shooter for a hardcore audience (This will be exclusive to Wii U) * a multi-sports game "for the whole family". so No, Ghost Recon Online, is not exclusive to PC (As Rocky said above it probably wasn't initially listed because the Wii U hadn't been "announced" then) Now the PC version may be being developed separately to the Wii U version (or in parallel) or it may be a "port" from PC to Wii U - that part is uncertain
Ruin
So now I wonder if we'll see GRO moved to Xbox and PS3 also?
Pave Low
as we have seen Xbox titles "ported" to PC and vice-versa so the answer to that question is more likely to be down to a Ubi marketing/sales decision, than by technical matters.
Rocky
Could this be the mystery new "hardcore" shooter....
Pave Low
Yep, that's it Ubisoft first-person shooter New intellectual property being developed exclusively for Nintendo Wii U
Sam_S
Most interesting thread. I'd just like to clarify that GRO is indeed coming to the Wii U (that much I think was clarified) in addition to the PC. Killer Freaks is the new shooter IP for the Wii U. GRO on the Wii U is a brand new team working on the game in parallel to the PC development, which is already in beta. What remains unchanged: GRO on the Wii U is an online only multiplayer game, just like PC. The setting, and the events are also in the same time period as the PC version. What can be changed for the Wii U: We have more than a year to ship, so everything else! Seriously though, the new touch controls give us a whole new interface to play with and the round table conference video linked to in this forum shows only some of the thoughts we have put in that area. It completely changes gameplay and the way we approach interaction with the game world. Wii U has given us a device that we hope to make a physical manifestation of the Cross Com 2.0 in your hands. Welcome to the forums Sam It sounds like the Wii U controller is really going to change player interaction with the game in quite a big way, can't wait to see what you guys come up with.
