Rumour: Arma 2 second Expansion pack in June 2011 ?

Recommended Posts

Not sure if GameSpot have their wires crossed over "Reinforcements"... but in a recent Arma 3 article (May 19, 2011)

they mention something that is either a mistake or will be very interesting

Arma 3 will be the first new installment in the series since 2009's well-regarded Arma II.

The studio released a stand-alone expansion for that game, Operation Arrowhead, in June 2010, and a second is planned for release next month.

Arma 2 was released in 17/19th June 2009... Arrowhead in 29th June 2010... June 2011 would be a year since Arrowhead.. which could indicate an annual release schedule of either a Game or Expansion  (not counting DLC's)

Yeah that was my first thought too, but he just couldn't be confusing it with BAF or PMC and to even get muddled by "Reinforcements" would have to be really Lazy as that was over 7 weeks ago!

But more I think of it, the more it does sound very plausible, and June keeps coming up regularly as a BIS release month.

..... and of course 22 June 2011 is the 10th anniversary of the release of Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis :hmm:

It would be weird of BIS not to have said anything about it, but I agree it seems possible. There is a thread about it on the BIS forum and no BIS guys have been in to dispel the rumour

Maybe they'll announce something at E3.
